A lot of the pictures like the Entertainment Weekly one has that same deal where they darken around the top of the head. What is up with that? Are they trying to hide mega forehead? It is what it is!

Never heard of this dude named Joe Hill before today, but word is going around that he ranks IT among the 5 scariest movies he's ever seen. I did a little digging and wanted to see what the other 4 movies are on his list. Upon reading, he is actually the son of Stephen King. Weird that they don't have the same last name. Would've thought maybe he's adopted or something, but they look very much alike. Anyway, the other four are Jaws, The Exorcist, The Thing and Let the Right One In. I'd certainly call that a very respectable top 4. Still need to see IT, but I'm even a little more excited to see this one.

He took a different name so people wouldn't buy his books based on his dad's reputation.

Eeerie how he looks like a mid 80's King now, wow.

Also, Joe Hill is originally credited as Joe King in the original Creepshow as the boy in the wraparound. Hard to believe that little kid grew up lookin' like 80's coke-head Stephen :P

If it was a psychotic hillbilly dressed as a clown, I would be all over it. Shapeshifting and tween drama? Not for me.

Heavy on the jump scares, par for the course in trailers these days, but still fantastic.

Also love at 2:09 toward the middle you can see the nod to the 1990 costume (NOT original costume, since the book version is orange and silver).

His given name is King, and his middle name is Hillstorm and and he went with Joe Hill as his pen/stage name to try and not be seen as riding his Dad's coattails and shiz. But yeah, wasn't gonna last as the motherfucker looks just like him.

Please don't load the movie with cheap, lame ass jump scares like every other cheap ass horror movie in this era.

Trailer looks promising other than that.

It is possible it could be the most disappointing movie of the year, given how much I'm hyped for it :P

Yep. I get a bad feeling, too. I got hooked on the idea of IT completely after seeing the first trailer. The second trailer was pretty poor, this one was pretty decent but the cheap jump scares are a problem. It could be anywhere from fantastic to totally godawful. Please don't suck. :(

I'm okay with jump scares so long as that's not the extent of the horror.

The biggest problem I have is the loud BOOM at 0:41 when Pennywise comes in. How perfect would that be if he just showed up with no "DUNNNNNNN" music... Holy shit.

It Follows created such a great platform for modern horror. Other films need to figure out what It Follows did to make it work.

There's gotta be a balance though. It Follows did a great job with a lot of things especially building anticipation without the cheap pay-offs, but there were some moments I can recall not feeling cinematic enough, not appropriately emphatic. You need pay-offs to some degree, they just can't be so damn cheap as they are now.

The lack of cinematics was another positive for me in It Follows. Horror films aren't really supposed to be cinematic, imo. Look at the original TCSM...

I think I'm trying way too hard to want to like IT. lol. There is so much promise, but it's shown that it could easily let us down. I've already conceded that Curry's Pennywise will not even be touched. But that was kind of to be expected, any way. But a lot is riding on this new guy, too. Pennywise's personality is what made IT so great, and it wasn't even moderately gruesome.
