Gotcha. I see your point and would agree except I think for this particular subject it's well overdue. As far as alt history goes, Americans ponder the Civil War outcome "what ifs" more than any other events, including WW2 and there hasn't been any major cinematic take on it yet. It did take a long time for Americans filmmakers to touch slavery though and only recently has it become prevalent subject matter so the timing of a project of this kind of scope makes sense.showa58taro wrote:It seems like alternate history shows are pretty common these days is all. Much like how Man in the High Castle and SS-GB didn't deal with the Final Solution aspect, you'd have to expect that show to gloss over the worst details of an alternative history. Also does seem an attempt at being trendy. Wouldn't catch my eye.
I understand why people would not want to see such a show for a variety of reasons and that's all respectable, I haven't heard a good argument yet for why it shouldn't be made which seems to be the consensus of the internet social media mob.
It definitely should be made for the US audience. It'd be interesting. There's a high degree of risk.

I think it's valid. I just think it either becomes overly revisionist, or it will become slightly too incapable of extricating itself from the tag of being pro-slavery. Neither of which are easy to balance out.Headhunter wrote:Gotcha. I see your point and would agree except I think for this particular subject it's well overdue. Re: Game Of Thrones
Last two episodes have been great. Writers are clearly on a warpath to the end of the show now.

Last episode may have been my favorite of the series.

Re: Game Of Thrones
For daily chat and random spoilers in threads I assume. This is literally about the series you want to start watching and the 7th season no less.Jason wrote:Why did I implement the spoiler function, then?! :pshowa58taro wrote:Mate, one thread to avoid. ONE!Jason wrote:SHUT UP!!!!
if you didn't want the show spoiled you shouldn't have read the thread about it.
Re: Game Of Thrones

Re: Game Of Thrones
Make a second thread. GoT for latecomers. But given how vast and complex it is, remembering who did what in which season is hard.

Re: Game Of Thrones
I hear ya. Posting spoilers in every post would probably be annoying. And I am likely the only one on the forum avoiding spoilers, anyway. I'll just avoid.
