Fuck compromise. Compromise is why we are $20 trillion in debt.

Just can't have a never ending cycle of "this is your fault" politics. I do however believe that this exact scenario was what the Dems wanted except Hillary would be president and let government completely takeover healthcare when Obamacare shit the bed.

Politics need to return to some sense of fiscal responsibility. Liberals cannot seem to understand the solution to everything cannot be taxing the top 5% of earners. It just doesn't work.

Republicans don't know the first thing about fiscal responsibility. That failure is nonpartisan.

Good video. Smart dude. Very honest.

I especially love the Nancy Pelosi dig. "We have to pass Obamacare so that you can, uhh, find out what's in it".

Lol. Enjoy.

McConnell knows he's fucked, pulled the bill. Good luck getting more support when you get all that extra scrutiny. Surely, as Bugs Bunny says, its Back to the Drawing Board.

That is why i am not a republican. Medicaid has spunbso far out of control it is not even funny, and they are too cowardly to say the truth, that people need to get off their assets and just about every single family is guilty of having members who are lazy mooches who should not be getting benefits.

It's a bizarre paradox that Republican states end up being the bigger moochers of the federal dollar than Democrat states.

No realistic conversation on significant cuts can begin without military.

Surely it's time to let Democrats in on the process now. Enough with this hidden closeted approach. Get the bill in the open, debate it, assess it, amend it or bury it. But stop having it be some kind of secret bill with no input from others.

There is nothing stopping them from putting forth a proposal. They put this ticking time bomb in place, did it have no fail safe other than massive failure?

Last I heard that's what they are doing with sone areas. Not healthcare though, which I think is a bit of a jerk move. But at the same time Republicans aren't trying to make a healthcare bill so nothing to do for Democrats there. If the first step is a full repeal then Replace that isn't really viable and Democrats know it. As do arepublicans.

McConnell said if he didn't get his bill he will work with Democrats to fix Obamacare. He said it as a threat. That's the best thing I've heard to date. That's what the US needs. Bipartisanship, trying to work with each other.

Also I cannot fathom why the two biggest critics of Obamacare, Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell, are from the state that has the greatest need for it and saw the best success rate of it.

The Pauls are just principled and unwavering in their ideology. McConnell's leadership position in the Senate puts actual policies in his state on the back burner.

But basically nobody runs against McConnell in Kentucky, it's a joke. He has the highest disapproval rating of any senator and he wins elections in landslides.

Polling of congressional leaders is always a waste of time. Look at Pelosi. She is only under pressure now because of party desperation, not because of her perpetually low approval numbers. Paul Ryan went from superstar to the shitter when he went into leadership.

Looks like Trump appointed Rand Paul to take over the healthcare fiasco.

Neither will you. As if that'll sway moderates in the Republican Party. You can lose 2. Any shift to more extreme cuts to Medicaid and removal of ore-existing conditions etc will easily lose more. It's hopeless for that bill.

I thought sharing this experience at work today would be good for this thread. So a number of us started bullshitting about this bill, and this one chick who is a total bleeding heart liberal, and who usually doesn't engage with us because we get her so riled up with our pokes or prods, said that she feels it's our obligation to provide healthcare for those less fortunate, particularly the disabled etc. (I was silently thinking I want to introduce you to my friend Fooskey :P ), and we should be striving for a single payer system. Another guy chimed in that the travesty that is Obamacare was nothing close to single payer. But, but, she says... in comes our new co-worker from Canada, been with us about a year (legally, mind you ;) ), says "you talkin' about single payer healthcare, eh?!" Proceeds to tell us don't believe the bullshit, it's nothing it's cracked up to be, at least as Canada is concerned. At this point the bleeding heart lib chick walked back to her cube. Both his parents still in Canada have to pay astronomically more in taxes namely for the single payer and he says it's shit, so they have to double down for the supplemental healthcare. And says even in the short amount of time he's been here in the States, American Health Care gets wayyy too bad of a rap. For what he pays, even factoring in what our employer does on top of it, for the care, options, treatments available etc. He gets at least 3X better care and his parents pay at least 5X more. This is one of the main reasons why, unless Trump kicks him out he joked, he won't go back to Canada (and he won't need to, he's a smart motherfucker). At this point we are all "Hey, hear what the Canuck had to say, chick!", crickets. I proceed to toast with a rousing revival of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhnUgAaea4M

And through all of this, he just shitbagged his home country, while a large Canadian flag hung above his cube flying behind him because Canada Day is tomorrow and he is tired of us Muricans busting his balls all the time. :D He has converted to Murica, fuck yeah!

All of this story is true except the rousing revival of the song, it was just Murica fuck yeah oodles and goodles.
