Let's be real, Trump didn't know what Aleppo was a few years ago. Trump still thinks health care is life insurance and he's what, 70?

Having a bunch of people who say "I hate Obamacare, but don't touch my ACA" parade you around the country doesn't really say much. With Trump, you either get him or you don't. He is a fearless ball buster. He will change his mind and largely ignores what would be traditional politics.
I appreciate his sense of humor and trolling. I love how he blurts out what he is thinking on twitter. It is transparency you do not see enough of. He is a game changer. The true outsider challenging convention.
For the sake of comparison, many thought Obama was different. He turned out to be just a different color of Democrat snake in the garden. No new ideas. Just regurgitated and rewarmed liberal bullshit. Could have been anyone, as they all operate in lockstep.
Who cares? No one else knows about Aleppo until it is relevant to them. Just like all the conflicts in the Middle East. Do you think any politician knows jack about it until they are being briefed? This is the good and the bad of our system. Our politicians must make decisions based on what the deep state guys and advisors tell them, and there are always agendas at play.Headhunter wrote:Let's be real, Trump didn't know what Aleppo was a few years ago. I wasn't responding to you on the Aleppo point, I was responding to Jason's Aleppo "gotcha" that nobody should care about. So yeah, exactly. I don't care. That was the point of that post. Talk to Jason about your take on it, not me.Foo wrote:Who cares? No one else knows about Aleppo until it is relevant to them. Just like all the conflicts in the Middle East. When Obama took office, what do you think he knew about managing anything but a campaign? Do you think he had the slightest clue about the business world? About how companies make decisions? His entire life was built around campaigning for public office.
People know what the wall Trump promised to build represents. There is some education there.Headhunter wrote:Having a bunch of people who say "I hate Obamacare, but don't touch my ACA" parade you around the country doesn't really say much. Healthcare is always gonna be a problem because people will never wrap their mind around it. Medicaid and subsidies have created such a moocher class that 90% of the moochers think they are contributing.

I agree with your general point about politicians being ignorant on the issues and how it's only as meaningful as the info they're briefed with. With Trump it is just way more apparent than anyone else, from a combo of lack of experience, lack of polish and frankly, lack of rhetorical capability relative to his peers. But how am I supposed to treat a game of telephone where the final message comes out jumbled and incoherent on top of being fact-checked as a lie of some kind? It's fair to question Trump's pipeline of info when we hear about millions of illegal votes and other bullshit all the time.Foo wrote:Oh I see. Like there was the whole phony outrage over Trump not rebuking the David Duke endorsement. Was obvious he had no idea who David Duke was, or even why he would even address such an endorsement.
Oh please. The education system is a failure when it politicizes anything like that. We build walls all over the place for safety and security. Airports, stadiums, monuments, etc. have walls as part of their security, as do many homes, as does parts of the border.Headhunter wrote:...it represents the failure of an education system to not emphasize how historically walls have failed time and time again, and only create more problems for the states who build them. No argument there. The Obamacare =/= ACA contingent ideally shouldn't vote or breed though.
So you're gonna pretend that discussion is not centered around border/city-state walls because you really have nothing else? Ooooookay. Keep streeeeeeeeeetching. And keep blaming your misinformation on political bias I guess.Foo wrote:Oh please. The education system is a failure when it politicizes anything like that. The same people arguing against walls are the first people to build them for security around their homes and offices. It is lies.
I think it is fair to question his claim, but we do live in a nation with millions of illegals and those with an agenda to treat them just like citizens. When you see vote totals in California and some of their legislative efforts, I would also question who is voting.Headhunter wrote:I agree with your general point about politicians being ignorant on the issues and how it's only as meaningful as the info they're briefed with. Cali's demographics and voting actually does add up to be honest. In this case, Trump was particularly unpopular in California so the difference was magnified. I know several Republicans who voted for Hillary in California, I doubt that was the case in many other states.Foo wrote:I think it is fair to question his claim, but we do live in a nation with millions of illegals and those with an agenda to treat them just like citizens. You have a state in financial trouble, taxing the citizens to the breaking point and they are willing to give all those freebies to illegals? Something is fishy.
Scaramucci just called Priebus a "Fucking paranoid schizophrenic" on record. Wow. Things are going smoothly though!Headhunter wrote:I don't like Jeff Sessions but he has been railroaded for actually holding a moral high ground as AG, so fucked. The Trump administration is a joke.
