well, they are supposedly doing a john wick universe with "battlerina" as the next flick. :P (atomic blonde doesn't seem to be part of it at all though)

why is atomic blonde the one that tests your disbelief? you didn't seem to mind when it was river tam or black widow or even furiosa kicking ass. :P
No, no, and no. And weigh to put legit martial artists in the mix with a stick thin model/actress.

why do you keep substituting weigh for way or whatever? :P

i'm looking at the characters in the movies they've done. if we're talking real life, charlize theron would not last against those guys in a real fight. not a chance. summer glau wouldn't last in a real fight. scarlet johannson wouldn't last in a real fight. chloe moretz wouldn't last in a real fight. but i didn't think that we were arguing that.

Cuz 110. :P

I didn't particularly like any of those fights, would not make top 10.

fair enough. i also wasn't arguing against your top 10 fights. for me, this was about whether you can enjoy a movie with a woman kicking ass. i can. maybe you can't. that's up to each viewer. *shrug*

I can. But come on, you realize how easy it would be for burly enforcer type to take Theron's weak sauce hits and then throw her over a balcony, breaking her neck? Versus Keanu, a slender dude but also 6' 2" and versed in it and what not?

absolutely. in a real non fictional movie fight, charlize theron wouldn't stand a chance. the character she's playing is not meant to be an actress / model though. gal gadot would lose in a fight. but wonder woman could hold her own. (and i realize that charlize's character is a spy/assassin, not a superhero but still)

john wick could take more of a beating than whoever her character in atomic blonde is. i can agree to that. but i'm betting that he does.

Superhero shit vs. realistic is part of the point. If Atomic Blonde was a superhero, fine, I'll buy it. Trying to make her this gritty realistic version of Wick or even Schwarzenegger or some shit, gtfo.

that's cool. i guess i have an easier time with it. i can separate the character from the actor or actress playing that character, even when it's meant to be more gritty and realistic.

arnold schwarzennegger could not take a fourth of the damage that he has taken in his movies, by the way. :P

Outside of Terminator, name his injuries? Slice in Commando was mere flesh wound.

I think he'd ruin suspension of disbelief permanently for anyone who ever watches movies with him.

That's of course the only reason I've not watched films with Neil deGrasse Tyson.

wasn't he shot by the predator, as one example? something that took off a guy's arm earlier in the movie, just makes him wince and groan from what i recall. in real life, schwarzennegger would not be able to handle that damage and that's just one example. but it's a movie, so yeah.

The most unrealistic scene ever in a film was Hines Ward outrunning an exploding football field in The Dark Knight Rises. I think about it twice a week.
