Reign in Blood wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2024 4:51 pm Gladiator 2 was really damn good. The opening sequence was off the chain, I want a whole movie of that, nothing but crazy Roman warfare. Definitely some problems with it, mainly script where they Hollywoodized a little bit too much. But the direction, cinematography, sound, action etc. all great. Struggling to think of a better movie in the last 5 years or so. I know a lot of people might say the Dunes or Oppenheimer but neither of those appeal to me, I think Gladiator 2 has it in a headlock.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood came out 5 years ago. :o
Respect to Reign and opinions and all that but he’s off his rocker with that take. It’s good dumb fun though and worth seeing on the big screen.
If you want to put Once Upon up there by all means, but there ain't that many that are better in last 5 years. It's no Everything Everywhere All at Once, but what can be?
I thought Everything Everywhere was trash but I can name plenty. Sad that you are a late Scorsese hater because he has two of them :(
Go on, name plenty.
I’ll just give you some from this year: Anora, Dune 2, The Substance, Hundreds of Beavers, Furiosa, Longlegs, Horizon, Hit Man. Probably about on the same level for me as Twisters.

Gladiator 2 was solid dumb fun. I liked it. Set pieces + Denzel carry it to a nice 7/10.

what are her good horror films? :P
She says Sinster is the scariest movie she's ever seen.

This isn't the first I've heard this. Am I missing something with Sinister? I liked it but seemed pretty run-of-the-mill to me.

I liked it. Probably a little better than run-of-the-mill for me but not exactly terrifying.

lol why. That was mid as hell

Only thing it had going for it was a great lead performance. Gladiator II could have used that, Mescal does not have the goods tbh
