Yep, under contract with Paramount, he's in Mission Impossible 6 and he had to keep the mustache, so it made the reshoots awkward. It seemed stupid to me too, like it's easier to put a fake mustache on him for M:I6 than CGI-remove it. So I blame Paramount for that one.Ava wrote:Is his mustache for another movie? I wouldn't go that far. Why is it Paramount's fault WB needed re-shoots at the same time? They're rival studios in the dog-eat-dog, if I'm Paramount, fuck em, push your re-shoots back or give me some nice coin. Unless fuck em is what Paramount chose outright, this is on WB.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Yep, under contract with Paramount, he's in Mission Impossible 6 and he had to keep the mustache, so it made the reshoots awkward. Reshoots happen all the time, so it shouldn't be surprise to other studios. What's surprising is the demand for him to keep the stache. They basically did say Fuck'em, from what I read, they wouldn't budge at all. I've never heard of mustaches being contractually bound until this. Hell, it would've been cheaper if WB offered to pay for the fake mustache for M:I6.Reign in Blood wrote:I wouldn't go that far. Why is it Paramount's fault WB needed re-shoots at the same time? Re: November 17th 2017
Feels weird to say, but two years in a row, with some extremely solid comic book movies out too, Fox has put out my favorite of the genre in both years. Last year: Deadpool, this year: Logan. Their rated-R-ness is working for them.
Re: November 17th 2017
the justice league joss whedon reshoots probably went beyond what was contracted initially. reshoots are scheduled and contracted when the movie begins production. this was just a weird situation. paramount could have worked more with warner bros for sure, but warner also went beyond what they initially planned to do.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:

It is indeed a weird situation, they had a no-win on it. Push the release date back, get bad press. CGI over the mustache, become a laughing stock in the FX world:Pzombie wrote:the justice league joss whedon reshoots probably went beyond what was contracted initially. reshoots are scheduled and contracted when the movie begins production. this was just a weird situation. paramount could have worked more with warner bros for sure, but warner also went beyond what they initially planned to do.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:

do you think they would have gotten bad press, if whedon or whoever the feige over there is, had explained why they pushed the release date?DancesWithWerewolves wrote:It is indeed a weird situation, they had a no-win on it. well, that's lame. i feel like they would have been okay, if the movie turned out to be good.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Yep.zombie wrote:do you think they would have gotten bad press, if whedon or whoever the feige over there is, had explained why they pushed the release date?DancesWithWerewolves wrote:It is indeed a weird situation, they had a no-win on it. It's still decent. The biggest consensus complaint are the FX and Steppenwolf. Rightfully, too. I'd have been good with it waiting to fix the CGI, but critics would froth at the mouth knowing there was yet another setback on a DC movie.zombie wrote:well, that's lame. i feel like they would have been okay, if the movie turned out to be good.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:Yep.zombie wrote:do you think they would have gotten bad press, if whedon or whoever the feige over there is, had explained why they pushed the release date?DancesWithWerewolves wrote:It is indeed a weird situation, they had a no-win on it. My ranking for this year goes:
1. Logan
2. Thor: Ragnorok
3. Wonder Woman
4. Spiderman: Homecoming
5. Guardians of the Galaxy 2
6. Justice League
7. Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Re: November 17th 2017
What I think WB needs to do is stop their leaks during production. Disney/Marvel has a much tighter lid on their stuff, but WB just keeps spilling while filming, so critics already see the dirty laundry aired out before seeing the movies.
Luckily Aquaman seems to have had a tight lid on its production, I haven't heard jack shit beyond casting.

Re: November 17th 2017
how much of the rush on the cgi was because of whedon rescripting and reshooting large parts of the story? could you tell where it was whedon-y and where it was snyder-y?DancesWithWerewolves wrote:

yeah. it is weird about all of the leaks and production possibilities going around for all the other movies. maybe james wan has more loyalty or something.DancesWithWerewolves wrote:What I think WB needs to do is stop their leaks during production. Wonder Woman and Logan are tied for first this year.
And they're the only ones I've seen this year. :p
