Of course. No damage done mentally to the underage boy. Gay pedophilia is already mentally damaging before the act is even committed.

Do not forget, the woman went to prison in the movie I like. And the kid grew up to be a retard...

before "the act", as in sex? yeah, maybe so. but that can be true of heterosexual pedophilia too.

That's My Boy.

Do you disagree that this movie that won an oscar was blatantly put out there by liberal Hollywood to express their "progressive" viewpoint of exploratory sexuality?

I'm of the opinion that this movie won an oscar before the screenplay was even finished.

i've been curious to see call me by your name for a while. didn't know that the couple weren't both around the same age until today.. but not gonna keep me from giving it a watch. judge me if you like. i also watch movies that glorify murder. but i know the difference between fiction and reality. i am capable of that distinction.

You can watch and enjoy the movie and I will not think any less of you. I just see the movie for the reason it was actually created... to glorify exploratory sexuality. The fact they made the young gay person underage makes them all hypocrites of the highest order, considering all the underage teen boy poking that goes on behind the curtains.

i don't know anything about that movie. *shrug*

i don't care why it was put out. so long as no one involved with the movie actually did anything like that (or intends to, in the future), i don't care. it's fiction. i hope that no one takes it as inspiration for predation or to, as a child, make moves on an adult too. but it's a movie. tons of movies have themes that are not appropriate or downright criminal if practiced in real life. you're only pointing a finger because it's about homosexuals.

One of which is under legal age, and the movie was literally created by liberal Hollywood to glorify it.

Meaning liberal Hollywood are hypocrites of the highest order.

And again, this movie was going to win the oscar before the screenplay was even written. That is how liberal Hollywood works.

Nobody liked Brokeback Mountain, Milk sucked, but how many oscars did those movies win?

Without looking, a bunch I'll bet.

Now, question for you, given my stance on all that, would you say I have a bias of negatively criticizing gay movies?

are you taking my posts as trying to cover up that call me by your name centers on a relationship between an underage teen and an adult? go read my posts again.

i don't understand what makes them hypocrites? some are immoral. some are criminal. some are walking garbage. and some are pretty cool. (as with any other segment of society)

liberal hollywood makes all sorts of movies with all sorts of themes. do you want there to be some kind of policing of the themes featured in movies?

you have every right to not care for gay movies. my only concern is that you're calling them out for themes of pedophilia, when you wouldn't if it was heterosexual? you want to make a big deal, specifically when it's homosexuals doing the pedophilia. but take no issue otherwise.

and i do feel a little bit judged in all of this, because i don't take the same stance on themes of fiction as you do. :P

No.

Hollywood disowned a ton of actors who were accused of trying to (or being) involved with underage boys. Then they create a movie about it and its glorified. Lol. Hypocrisy.

No, they can make movies about illegal immigrants murdering and raping American women if they want, I just won't assist in funding it.

brokeback mountain (or people involved) got 5 oscars. (best picture, best director, best actor, best score, best adapted screenplay)

milk (or people involved) got 5 too. (best actor, best original screenplay, best picture, best supporting actor, best director)

call me by your name got 1. so now my question is... did either brokeback or milk feature such a relationship? could that be the difference in the awards received? interesting thought.
