I think it’s the structure of it that I found so disappointing though. It’s sonobvuously set up for a party 2 where the shock of the film is clearly unwound. That’s kind of a dick move.

It basically has that feeling like at the end of Desolation of Smaug, where you know there's more, ends on a fucked note, and it is very successful at doing that, but as an individual movie it doesn't feel wholly satisfying because you're not getting the whole meal. Does that make sense?
