I shouldn't pay for someone's gambling addiction, why should I pay for their drug addiction?

I don't want to pay for sick people's imprisonment, why should I?Foo wrote:I shouldn't pay for someone's gambling addiction, why should I pay for their drug addiction?
If they aren't already, they wouldn't be if legalized.Foo wrote:Can I have full auto for when the addicts come a knockin?
I would think possession is secondary to crimes committed to get itHeadhunter wrote:That too is a better alternative than locking them up.Foo wrote:Why are we rehabbing and treating people? Just let them go.
As a society, we have agreed to provide jails. Most people in prison are sick in one way or another. Kill them all so you don't have to pay? I am cool with it.Headhunter wrote:I don't want to pay for sick people's imprisonment, why should I?Foo wrote:I shouldn't pay for someone's gambling addiction, why should I pay for their drug addiction?
Under a legalization policy, only one of those groups would see jail time. Positive step.Tiggnutz wrote:I would think possession is secondary to crimes committed to get itHeadhunter wrote:That too is a better alternative than locking them up.Foo wrote:Why are we rehabbing and treating people? That I could get behind but one would lead to anotherHeadhunter wrote:Under a legalization policy, only one of those groups would see jail time. Yeah, our prison system isn't a global embarrassment or anything.Foo wrote:As a society, we have agreed to provide jails. Most people in prison are sick in one way or another. But not in every case. Progress can be 10%, 20%, 50%, it's all positive.Tiggnutz wrote:That I could get behind but one would lead to anotherHeadhunter wrote:Under a legalization policy, only one of those groups would see jail time. Most are laughing because our prisons are like vacations.Headhunter wrote:Yeah, our prison system isn't a global embarrassment or anything.Foo wrote:As a society, we have agreed to provide jails. Sure. From what I understand, a big issue with fentanyl is people not knowing they're taking it and it being mixed into other hard drugs. This is another issue with the trade being run by criminals that wouldn't be an issue if legalized.Tiggnutz wrote:Should fentanyl be legal?
Compared to some of the shitholes you'd see on shows like Locked Up Abroad, sure. That's an embarrassing standard for one of the highest developed nations in the world to hold itself to.Foo wrote:Most are laughing because our prisons are like vacations.Headhunter wrote:Yeah, our prison system isn't a global embarrassment or anything.Foo wrote:As a society, we have agreed to provide jails. You are badly misreading that.Foo wrote:Is there another society where prison life is glorified and a major music genre celebrates the life of being in and out of prison, being the king of prisoners, etc.?
What's the difference? It kills thousands of people while illegal. It's not going to kill more people if legal.Tiggnutz wrote:Fentanyl kills the all drugs should be legal discussion just as it should. All drugs are not equal
Could be helpful to eliminate the market of compounding the stuff with coke or heroin without the buyer's knowledge though. I see that as a positive step.Headhunter wrote:What's the difference? Tons of people with no fear of prison. Being in prison is like joining a team. They enjoy the dynamic.Headhunter wrote:You are badly misreading that.Foo wrote:Is there another society where prison life is glorified and a major music genre celebrates the life of being in and out of prison, being the king of prisoners, etc.?
