Saw that earlier. I guess the reason why he wanted money was to get legal defense if he made the documentary tell all. Corey is a little weird, but I am not sure he is in it for the money. He always does weird shit, like his musical adventures, and maybe he wants to get evidence instead of just dropping names during interviews. Or meh....could be wishful thinking.

He does want to secure defense and protection, but also wants to fund a documentary that exposes them.

Why not? Definitely not to the same degree, but there were two instances recently that I wouldn't/didn't have much sympathy for. A buddy's teenage son was going down to a huge event at the beach to sell merchandise (t-shirts, hats, stickers) that had already been pretty popular with his high school crowd. Planning to go alone, I might add. We were all like Ahh, you prepared? He's like prepared for what? Oy! This event will draw who knows what kind of riff raff and many people will see you taking in money. Take some friends, watch your surroundings and watch anyone following you, you run a high risk of getting jumped. And don't stockpile the money, when you get a decent amount run home and drop it off and go back etc. Luckily he was fine because he ended up giving most of it away to any hot chick that asked. Another dude has lived in great areas his whole life, recently moved into a bad neighborhood that everyone knows has some bad hombres, he thought he could operate as normal. He left his designer Italian sunglasses and all manner of other shit in his car. First night there? Car is broken into and he has over 2 grand worth of shit stolen from it. Response? Ouch, but are you fucking stupid?

So yeah, they can certainly be scrutinized. Or maybe I'm just an asshole. Both are valid.

encouraging safety and preparedness is not the same thing as shaming someone, when they've been victimized.

Even in analogy 1, is it that different then saying "watch how you dress, don't get too drunk, don't be alone with that scuzzy dude" etc. and then when it's all ignored and it happens you scrutinize (or shame in liberal terms)? Let me tell you, if that boy did get jumped and was even hospitalized, I still would have been saying you fucking idiot, I done told you! Remember, zombs, victims aren't we all.

Like most anything, it's not all black and white. But we can't operate by this mob rule court of public opinion shit. My main point of contention is that by the day each guy that is accused, their life's work (if not their lives in general) are getting buried. For Weinstein, Spacey, Ratner, Toback, I have no reason not to believe the accusers, and thus they may very well deserve it. But the #MeToo shit is even the level of goosing a butt, where does it end? Some things you gotta stand up for yourself with, and the more serious, go to the police as has been said.

Say you're out with a friend and you see him swipe something valuable from someone else, do you scold him or ask for a cut of the stolen goods?

Asking for a cut is akin to shaming a victim of sexual assault, you aren't shaming the right actions. Having a valuable object does not mean you are asking for it to be stolen by not having it locked away in a secure location. Just like some people are raped in jeans and baggy t-shirts, some items are stolen from secure locations. The only thing that prevents the crime is continuously shaming the ones who commit the crime. Turning a blind eye cause it's not your business allows the criminal to continue not giving a shit about his or her actions because there are no real consequences for them.

And I'm guilty of shaming people for not dressing modestly enough or drinking too much, myself. I have less sympathy for those who are assaulted when drunk, willingly high, or provocatively dressed than I have of the people who are modestly clothed and sober when attacked. I think they are putting themselves in needless danger and on some level deserve what they get for being stupid about it. I'm torn on that aspect. No one deserves to be hurt for being stupid, but being stupid will warrant less sympathy from me cause everyone knows people are assholes and no on can count on anyone else to be a decent human being even in the best of times and that fucking sucks.

I do pretty well with setting aside how I feel about actors/directors/musicians personal lives to enjoy the work, but in this case, I'm not sure I can sit and watch Lucas again. I don't feel the same about other Sheen movies, but that one's now tainted.

Not sure about the dead kid, but he's already confirmed that all the stories about masturbating in front of women are true. So there's that.

I find humor in the fact that this dude is a celebrity, a millionaire, plenty of women will naturally flock to him, and he's still behaving like a creepy nerd who is incapable of talking to women.
