Going with Dracula 2000. Solid cast, and I remember having a pretty good time with this one.
Kinda funny. Was just reading how Rob Zombie has called that the worst piece of shit horror movie ever made.
Rob Zombie made Halloween II, so he can suck my dick.
Fucking movie is dope!

Well, I don't care for his version of Halloween, but I do think Halloween II is worse. That movie legit pissed me off at the beginning.
I actually like House of 1000 Corpses (though it took me something like three, perhaps four viewings to really appreciate it). Haven't seen anything else by him, to my knowledge (never seen 3 from Hell, 31, Lords of Salem) though I've been interested in seeing The Lords of Salem for some time now.

i actually kind of like 31, but it's still pretty much trash, regardless.

Finishing the night off with The Grudge. I sort of get the sense it won't be anywhere near as enjoyable as Dracula 2000, alas.

I also don't have any streaming service, so it would have to be in my collection or a free stream link
What stands out in your collection that you haven't seen before?
Goonies and Maximum Overdrive.
November 1st watch Goonies bro
i remember getting shit from you guys for not having seen it at the time. where was jason at, then!?
Jason obviously doesn't like groups of friends that stick together through thick and thin.
Jason just hasn't found his Father yet.

Just finished The Monster Squad. Brace yourselves. It's a nine-six. Gasp. Pick yourselves up off the ground. Move over When Evil Lurks, we got a new king in town.
I've been saying it since I was 6: Monster Squad > Goonies

Whats the It (1973) that D has as his last watched movie? Got an A grade
Typo I'm sure, should be 2017, I think he was hitting the bottle hard with double shots when editing.
less a typo and more oversight. I thought I typed it, but guess not. Copied and pasted probably from Exorcist.

I think D was commenting on the camaraderie of the kids in IT mini-series being the greatest, the motherfucking Monster Squad is right there with em baby.
Did I? I recall loving the camaraderie, but not sure if I called it "the greatest", but I would agree they're in the conversation. Along with The Squad for sure.
Edit: I later see Jason took credit. I was gonna say "I know my memory gets wonky but damn" lol.

Staring up The Monster Squad (1987) for a new watch.
I get the sense that this is one I would've appreciated if I had seen it as a kid. Is that true?
The title track on the bluray menu is bitchin.
I spoke to Composer Bruce Broughton a couple weeks ago. He's still working and using our paper to sketch out his score stuff. Cool dude.

You gotta properly join the squad now. I think D and I are the only ones to have em, but we got red shirts with yellow text that says "Sutter Cane Rules", only initiated horror nerds may apply.
ahahahaha, fuck yeah

He also has Evil Dead coming out in 1983. Must have had Christine on the brain.
I used the menu page's date for it. I know it's got like 5 different years for it's release, so I figure fuck it at this point. 1983 does come up a lot for Evil Dead, if memory serves me right, that was the official wide release, but it was hitting the circuit as early as 81 (IMDB's listing).
Edit: even Metacritic has it down as 1983.

Almost considered a lower grade for Deer Camp 86, but I have to give it some credit for the quote from the token black guy: "I'm going back to Detroit where it's safe!", so it earned a "+" for that chuckle.

At the very least: underrated. I had hoped it would've gained better traction over the years like many other misunderstood-in-their-time gems, but no, people's irrational hate-boner for Rob keeps it down.

Honestly didn't mind The Grudge near as much as I thought I would. Now I'm eager to watch the original (though it's not clear to me if the 2002 Ju-on is supposed to be the third entry of a series following the 2000 Ju-on and Ju-on 2 or not).
Either way, not a bad watch, and I enjoyed the non-linear story-telling here.

I gotta be real with everyone. When it comes to Asian horror, I have a very difficult time telling characters apart, so whenever there's two or three friends who look moderately similar, and one dies, I often lose track. I've started trying to track the clothes and names closely, but it doesn't always help.
When the plot's already complicated - as I very much remember either Ju-on or The Grudge being - it doesn't help anyway. I wouldn't mind watching more Asian horror, but I did watch One Missed Call a year or two ago, and I just didn't see anything special about it, so it may be possible it's just not my vibe.
That said, 2002's Honogurai mizu no soko kara (Dark Water) gets a high rating from me, and Battle Royale gets a 10/10, so I'm not completely blinded to their charm.
one missed call is your try for special? oof...
If you have Asian horror suggestions, I'll certainly take them. Giallo is of infinite more interest to me, though, as are krimis.
Cold Fish, Tell Me Something, The Hypnotist, Organ, A Record Of Sweet Murder, Untold Story, Ebola Syndrome or possibly Red Room since it's similar to Saw.
