Trumpcare 2.1

It will get heated. Can't take it, don't open the forum.

Five year old kids who have poor parents should know better. They don't deserve treatment or affordable healthcare.

Why not look at Australia's model, which Trump even praised, and start working along those ideals? This is a far richer country than Australia is.

There has to be congressional support for it.

And this is what it boils down to. Congress. Dems and Repubs only care about votes.

Either you want poor people to have healthcare or you want them to hurry up and die so they decrease the surplus population.

But black and white perhaps but Foo has as much nuance as a blank A4 page and the depth of a glass of water so why wouldn’t it work for the other side of the argument.
Basically, you just admitted to jumping to conclusions based on headlines from liberal rags, without taking time to learn about the "hows" and the "whys", but I am the shallow person...
I know lots about how’s and whys. I deliberately chose to play it Foo-style. :D
So I would like you to speculate on three numbers:

- what you would be paying for insurance in your current situation before Obamacare
- what you would be paying under Obamacare
- what you would be paying under Trump's plan
Nothing

You have to understand that not everyone is in the position of you and your friends. It seems everyone you know wants some huge government healthcare scheme. There are many others who want control over their future without the government involved so heavily.

Lulz. Everyone I know? I know a lot of people, Foo. I didn't know you know people I know. My two best friends are brothers. One is an Army Sargeant, the other a Navy Seal, broheem. One won't even wear a seat belt because he hates the government so much. So, wtf are you talking about?

Again, Trump praised Australia. So, why won't it work here? What is so different?

It does. Avoids localization bias.

If people would get their heads out of their asses, there would be congressional support, because they just want votes.

#1 - this is not Australia. Every nation has unique challenges. Why don't you start a restaurant chain that sells nothing but Kangaroo Burgers and Crocodile Steaks? Does Australia have thousands upon thousands of poor Mexicans pouring over their borders every month? What is the rest of their economy like? What are their people willing to accept when it comes to care?

#2 - Australia's healthcare is rapidly becoming unaffordable. Maybe you should look into it before advocating it.

I suppose someone should tell your Army and Navy friend they are part of the government. Also, tell them to protest by not wearing a seatbelt is stupid.
