It sounds like you're definition of "far left" would include members of the Democratic Party, because that sounds like a generic "#Resistance" thing that has nothing to do with what anti-capitalists believe in.

I'm not trying to harp on this, but this is one of my biggest problems when it comes to political conversations.

Democrats, and Democratic voters, are not remotely far left. They support a corrupt political party that largely backed Israel's slaughter in Gaza, consistently attacked leftists and inpendents when they spoke for better alternatives, and need I mention their attacks on third parties?

The far left should be a label used only for anti-captalists. I don't even think the DSA would qualify as "far left" to me, unless a large swath of their membership was doing it for harm reduction (which is a theory I 100% reject).

If we can't agree on what labels mean, then how can we ever effectively communicate?

i think that "far left" is used to evoke anti-capitalist, socialist, communist, whatever. but the problem comes from applying that label to anything that doesn't lean right on whatever issue they're trying to defend at a given time.

The amount of Republicans who think that people like Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer are socialists just shows what a terrible education this country has.

And honestly, I can correct these people all day, but it'll never work. If someone seriously thinks that Obama was somehow a socialist, they are simply a lost cause.
