I didn't want to say Jig is advocating the genociding of all your babies, luckily Jason did. Yeah I don't know about these beliefs, young Jiggy.

Capitalism is what led him to that situation, so acting like socialism would somehow lead to the same place is ridiculous.
NO... I put myself in that situation by making dumb ass decisions. It had nothing to do with capitalism or socialism.
That's fine, then.

For other people, they're put in that situation because of the system, and it's those people I'm concerned with (such as homeless veterans - which is an atrocity - or people who lost their homes to predatory lenders).
Those Situations are different but there are a lot of people who just fuck up, never learn their lessons and end up in one bad situations after the next because of their choices.
I don't care if someone fucks up. They deserve a home, and food, and the possibility of a life. A mistake doesn't mean we can let them rot on the streets. This is why I find the current system inhumane.
Food, and possibility of a life is one thing. But Jigs, you can't really expect a home for every single kid crapped out into the world. Come now.

Some people just don’t live in reality.
Since Reign didn't accurately state my belief, I hope you're not referring to me. I've yet to hear a single reason why any of my beliefs couldn't be actualized in this very world we live on. :P
Because it inevitably leads to starvation and genocide.
Starvation and genocide also happen under capitalism, so at best, both are shit systems.

I've been consistently anti-capitalist for something like ten years. It's not like anything's particularly changed, aside from being more educated in leftist discourse.

0.001% compared to 100% is a pretty big difference.

I think we have different definitions of "capitalist."

Not everyone who lives within a capitalist system is automatically a capitalist. It doesn't work that way. :P

See, that type of simplistic definiton is of no use. If someone lives in a country like this, they have literally no option but to participate in said system. I wouldn't say that makes someone a "capitalist" at all.

It was a blanket statement, not a jab at you.

I don't agree with all of your views as you are aware but I understand you're passionate about them and what you believe in, and I respect that.

Just so you know that's there's no ill will, my father was a mostly life-long Republican. Now, he died late 2015 - he despised Trump, and had he lived into 2016, there's no way in hell he ever would have voted for him (while he was a life-long Republican, he was consistently conservative on economic issues and liberal on social issues).

My point is this - I understand and respect plenty of counterbeliefs to my own. Hell, to an extent, I understand why some people got caught in the MAGA web, and I certainly don't blame some of the Trump voters in 2016 (God knows how much I hated Clinton, as many here remember).

As long as we can debate these ideas in good faith, that's all that matters to me. :thumb:
