Starting up Prince of Darkness. Third time seeing it, hoping it holds up.

I should revisit that. Only saw it two times, maybe three. Liked it pretty well.

I think I prefer the S-Mart ending still. But that was cool to see.

Yeah, I actually prefer the S-Mart ending too, and not because I saw it first. It seemed more fitting for the comical hero approach they've been doing, rather than going bleaker.

For the trilogy I'm going

The Evil Dead - 9.9
Evil Dead II - 9.3
Army of Darkness - 8.7

I'll have to sit on it, but it kinda just ended abruptly with the director's cut. I like the bleakness, I just think the supermarket ending was a little more flavorful and was a nice tie in to the boomstick scene. Lol

Army has the best cover art of the bunch, as seen in your current siggy. I miss poster art like that.

I could've went with one of the cool scream factory steelbook designs but opted to go original for the entire trilogy instead. I just have a massive appreciation for when people put effort into things and it shows.

Onto the 2013 remake. I enjoyed this when I left the theater and it cooled off substantially over time. Haven't seen it in years. Let's see how it holds up.

Almost forgot about the drug angle. That's the main thing that didn't sit well with me and still doesn't.

If it's any consolation, Smile 2 did it much worse. :P

I'm perfectly fine with never seeing a medicine cabinet mirror in a horror movie ever again. :P

I'm going 6.4 on the Evil Dead remake. I hold it in a little higher regard than my remembering of it. Didn't like the drug angle much and there was too much CGI for my liking but it was creepy, the demons felt enough like Evil Dead demons and there weren't any insufferable characters.

though now i could tell you it has a 2014 sequel that i know i've never seen. :P
Actually there's three sequels. The 2013 UK film that's a sequel to the original and then there's the 2015 US sequel to the original and US part 3 comes out this year. :P
