He's doesn't, and I doubt he thinks he does either. "Good faith" is a phrase that can be used regardless of ones' thoughts of religion, sorry fam. :P
You're not allowed to say Holy Shit either.
I always liked saying "Jesus Fucking Christballs" just to bother the religious snowflakes who live around me. :P

On a related note, I've never actually said that, but it's not too late to start.

On a site-note, I was probably going to start going over my 2024 third party/indpendent candidate predictions and see where I went wrong, so this thread is about to get a lot less fun. B3 r3ady. :P

Predictions of total vote count for third party and independent candidates (that made at least one ballot) that were made late September. Posting here for reference.

Supreme is a well-known name in politics. He glitterbombed Randall Terry back in 2011 (?) I think. Ran mutliple times in the Democratic Primary, and sadly never got far. He's complete satire, to be sure, but he seems fun. :P

And as for Everylove - I don't know the guy's story at all. All I know is that he was actually on Utah's ballot, which cracks me up. The idea of a guy named 'Lucifer' getting votes in Utah amuses me.

He was actually nominated by the Pirate Party - amusingly, he only made a single ballot, being Delaware, and in Delaware, he was nominated by the Conservative Party (which had been taken over by a former Libertarian).

The Pirate Party, on a side note, is such a disappointment, and I've not heard from them in at least five years, so I was pretty surprised to see them pop up to randomly nominate Supreme.

1) Chase Oliver [Libertarian Party]

Prediction: 1,760,000 votes

Reality: 650,138 votes (off by 1,109,862 votes)

Context:

Since 2012, the Libertarian Party has gotten third place in every presidential election - 2012 had Gary Johnson getting 0.99% (1,275,923 votes), 2016 had Gary Johnson getting 3.27% (4,489,359 votes), and 2020 had Dr. Jo Jorgensen getting 1.18% (1,865,641).

Jo Jorgensen was on the ballot in all 50 state back in 2020, though, whereas Oliver wasn't on the ballot in a few key states, such as Illinois and New York.

Back in 2020, Jorgensen got 66,544 votes in Illinois (1.10%), and 60,383 (0.70%) in New York. Now, Oliver had write-in access in both of these states, but it's rare for potential votes while on the ballot to translate to a write-in vote. In 2024, Chase Oliver managed 3,510 votes in Illinois, and 5,338 in New York, so he got significantly less.

There's a bigger story, though, being the divided nature of the current Libertarian Party. I'm far from a Libertarian, but it's been interesting to watch. See, there's a Mises Caucus in the Libertarian Party who has largely taken over the state chapters - in fact, in some states, Libertarians left the party and formed other parties, such as the Keystone Party in Pennsylvania and the Liberal Party in New Mexico - and Chase Oliver was very unpopular with the Mises Caucus. He's an anti-way, gay man, and the Mises Caucus wanted no part of it.

In fact, more than a handful of Libertarians fully endorsed Donald Trump, and if you remember, Trump was actually invited to speak at the Libertarian Party National Convention.

Because of this, I knew that Chase Oliver wasn't likely to as well as Jo Jorgensen, but I also expected a higher amount of third party voters this election cycle, so I thought it'd sort of even out.

For the first time since 2000, when Green Party nominee Ralph Nader got more votes than Libertarian nominee Harry Browne, the Green Party got more votes than the Libertarian Party (and in fact, Nader also got more votes than Harry Browne in 1996 also).

Honestly, in this climate, I think that Oliver's result was respectable - disappointing, I'm sure, to actual Libertarians - but respectable nonetheless. In some states, such as North Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming, he got above 1% (though that's partially due to the lack of options on some of those ballots). On a personal note, I think he's the best nominee the Libertarian Party has seen in some time - he beats the hell out of 2008's Bob Barr - and it's a shame that his vote total doesn't reflect that.

Oh they are actually somewhat relevant in the Czech Repiblic.

I think they even had a seat in the European Parliament at one point. At one point, they seemed to be a rising deal in Europe, and with the increase of AI, I'd think that they'd have more to add to the conversation.

I don't agree with all of your views as you are aware but I understand you're passionate about them and what you believe in, and I respect that.
Just so you know that's there's no ill will, my father was a mostly life-long Republican. Now, he died late 2015 - he despised Trump, and had he lived into 2016, there's no way in hell he ever would have voted for him (while he was a life-long Republican, he was consistently conservative on economic issues and liberal on social issues).

My point is this - I understand and respect plenty of counterbeliefs to my own. Hell, to an extent, I understand why some people got caught in the MAGA web, and I certainly don't blame some of the Trump voters in 2016 (God knows how much I hated Clinton, as many here remember).

As long as we can debate these ideas in good faith, that's all that matters to me. :thumb:
I'm very sorry to hear about your father.

I don't hate Trump, I just don't like the extremism he has brought out in so many. But yeah, Clinton sucked. Sanders was the guy the left wanted at the time, even if he lost to Trump in 2016 it would have been the better challenger. Just my opinion.

But we're are good man. I admit that I can get testy at times, but we all can when it comes to these subjects. But just so you know I have not forgotten where I came from and the struggles I went through. There are many people who face genuine hardships at no fault of there own. Sadly this shitty ass government doesn't care and would rather spend $700 billion on the military budget when they could take half of that to help build more shelters/housing for the homeless. So, I get your frustrations.
