Oh wow. CP3 traded to the Rockets for role player scraps. That's gonna be fun to watch.

Their plan A seems to be adding George and Hayward. A lot of teams are in on George right now though. Cavs, Rockets, Lakers in the discussions too.showa58taro wrote:And Paul George to Boston I heard.Headhunter wrote:Oh wow. CP3 traded to the Rockets for role player scraps. Never seen anything like this arms race to catch up with Golden State. Some real desperation from already good teams. And then you have teams like the Clippers who've just given up altogether.

Re: NBA Playoffs
I think it could end up being a blessing. Injuries happen for one, so nothing's guaranteed. This is going to up the risk profile for a lot of teams and lead to some intriguing talent combinations. Teams are conservative by nature, now to even compete they have to take chances and try things differently to give themselves a chance. Not every team like the Celtics can just hold onto assets and try to win it in 2020. The Chris Paul trade to play with Harden is an insanely out of the box move. The best you can hope for is 4-5 teams at a time that have a realistic chance to compete in the NBA. The Cavs, Rockets and Celtics could all potentially roll out much improved teams with several stars next season at least at this rate, which is better than the product this season where two teams obviously had more talent than anyone else.showa58taro wrote:It does rather ruin it all.Headhunter wrote:Their plan A seems to be adding George and Hayward. Re: NBA Playoffs
I wanna see Bosh come back. Just because we are in the exact same boat, medically. Which caused him to retire. It's not that he gets clots, it's that he has to take a blood thinner to prevent them, and the NBA doesn't want to take the super ultra mega tiny risk of him bleeding out and dying on the court if his head collides with another player. There are alternatives to coumadin. I don't know how deep into it he is, but a doctor is trained to just flat out stop the bleeding. There are other methods of preventing blood clots that don't require thinning the hell out of your blood. I'm in the middle of getting four proteins in my blood tested, which are related to the clotting issue we share. There could be some small thing he could change in his diet that would prevent blood clots without having to end his career. I know he's talking to doctors, but I don't know if he's seeking actual blood professionals or nutritionists who might can fix the cause and allow him to play in the NBA again.
I just really feel for this dude. I hope he's pursuing every avenue to find a way back.

Hopefully Iguodala and Livingston are both offered poison pill contracts tonight and GS can't match, deplete their depth a little bit.
Rockets have another move in the fold. A big man who can stretch the floor and defend makes them a contender imo

Dude, I truly hope you get over your health issues. I missed the latest update you gave, but came across it the other day while reading old chats.Jason wrote:I wanna see Bosh come back. In regards to Bosh, it's sad too because he was making a great living doing something he loves.

they are veteran unrestricted free agents. Poison pills are not possible.Headhunter wrote:Hopefully Iguodala and Livingston are both offered poison pill contracts tonight and GS can't match, deplete their depth a little bit.

Re: NBA Playoffs
The poison pill = high first year numbers that would send GS heavily into the luxury tax before they even have to pay Klay. The Warriors probably have numbers in mind for both. Obviously they're not actual poison pills but they essentially are.Foo wrote:they are veteran unrestricted free agents.
