You could argue they should have went after the donut places instead of AutoZone though. Total reform overnight.

"George Floyd’s family thanks all of the protesters for joining them in standing for JUSTICE. They know we’re all hurting and any decent human being who watches the video of police killing their Gentle Giant will also feel shortness of breath.
George Floyd’s family wants peace in #Minneapolis — but knows that Black people want peace in their souls — and until we get JusticeForFloyd there will be no peace.
We cannot sink to the level of our oppressors and endanger each other as we respond to the necessary urge to raise our voices in unison and in outrage. Looting and violence distract from strength of our collective voice.
To assuage this death and begin our community’s healing, city and police leaders — in #Minneapolis and elsewhere — need to look at the culture they’ve created and ask the hard questions..." - Benjamin Crump (lawyer to George Floyd), on Twitter.
"we cannot risk each other as we respond..." indeed.

you kind of cherry picked this out of context, btw.Headhunter wrote:“A riot is the language of the unheard” - MLK
"i hope that we can avoid riots, because riots are self defeating and socially destructive..." is one such example. full context in the link below.

“Cherry picking” would imply an intent to my quote that wasn’t there. My intent is the same as MLK’s: to shed light on why they happen and what they represent. It’s not an argument for or against.zombie wrote:you kind of cherry picked this out of context, btw.Headhunter wrote:“A riot is the language of the unheard” - MLK

The most revealing thing would be the racial divide among the poor. The context behind that might be the story of this country.Tiggnutz wrote:I would like to see a financial stability correlation with political view chart one time. Probably be interesting. Just a thought

Dividing poor whites and poor minorities is probably the greatest trick ever played by this country.

Everyone has gotten their points across and had the chance to expand on them when pressed. That sounds productive to me.zombie wrote:productive in what way?Headhunter wrote:I think it’s been great.
