This season is by far my favourite. and o think I know why. We don't have to have 25 different characters in 40 different locations. It's finally starting to coalesce into singularities. Starks in Winterfell, Lannister in Kings Landing and Targaryans in Dragonstone. Plus the Wall and the White Walkers. This means it's easy to see. And characters are getting together. The A-team is epically badass. Denaerys is finally on shore with multiple armies and advisors. It's fantastic.

Doesn't hurt that the action is fucking great this time too. I worry what the production can do for the final episodes to top it frankly.

They start filming in October. It generally takes a little less than a year between when the filming starts and when it airs. My guess is it'll be around the same time as it aired this year(late July/early August). The rumors of 2019 are due to longer episodes, but if you figure that you have six episodes, the total time will be about the same as if it had been ten episodes like previous seasons, so I doubt it will come to that.

Every season had ten episodes barring this one, which had seven, and the last, which is supposed to have six. And some episodes have been longer than the norm, including the finale for this season, which was around eighty minutes(a little less minus the credits/intro). And it hasn't been two years between seasons yet, so this statement is utter nonsense.
