FWIW, representation of gay people in American TV and movies is only slightly higher than % of the American population, the difference there is miniscule.
Not removing until John Elway is fired.

There's also been a tremendous rise in people being/identifying as gay over the last couple decades.

That is not terribly surprising.

Two pages in and this thread should be moved to the politics board.

different mediums have to focus on different things. i really enjoyed the show. maybe we just approach media differently.

I understand that and as I stated I watch whatever I want but it does get annoying when the gay issue is obviously shoehorned in so often.zombie wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 1:51 pmand before that "gay" was used to mock and shame. trans was something gross and insidious etc in mainstream media. times change and people over-fixate on the prevalence or "agenda". just watch what you want to watch or not and try to make sure it's because of the show or movie and not baggage that you're bringing into it.Lazerus wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 1:45 pm On the subject of Gayness in movies & TV shows
I do agree with Jason's statement about it being overplayed. In that past 10 years it seems like just about every movie or TV show has a gay character shoehorned in and it feels soo forced that it's annoying. I've seen reboots where a character is suddenly gay when he wasn't in the original. Now I can understand the marketing to that audience or whatever but it's played out at this point.
All that said I do not allow my opinion of this determine if a watch a movies/TV show or not. If i drop a show it's because the show either just sucks from the start or becomes boring over time.
THE CLOSEST WE WILL EVER GET TO ROCK VS. ROMAN

Re: Jason's List of Shit to Watch/Rewatch
are all of the shows and movie mentioned in your initial post, what you already own? or looking to buy too?
Re: Jason's List of Shit to Watch/Rewatch
I don't own Sopranos, Pacific or Mad Men. Own all the rest.

Re: Jason's List of Shit to Watch/Rewatch
good stuff. i'm kind of lacking in the television purchases myself.

Re: Jason's List of Shit to Watch/Rewatch
It can be costly as hell to buy a complete series of a show. You're lucky to get out with a set for 20 or 30 dollars.

ITT, Jason loves the native savage Indians who would scalp his white boy ass rawer than a chainsaw if given half a chance, but can't possibly be bothered with the gays that just want to paint his nails and bring him some Boba tea. I mean what the fuck.

Kaitlyn Dever who I think is an elite talent will be playing Abby in the second season of The Last Of Us.
