Then why was everyone and their mother totally blindsided by the trade? LeGM didn't even know? Anthony Davis didn't know? Luka didn't know?
Yes. None of those players had no trade clauses. What is the question?
Most players (especially star players) are made aware they're being shopped or a deal is on the works before the deal is done. Luka and AD both wake up to plane tickets?

Weird.

Yes. The Lakers had a pretty obvious incentive to not want the deal to leak or they risked other teams trying to beat their offer. And what is the upside of asking LeBron? If he says no and you do it anyway, then you piss him off.

“LeGM” is over. They’ve now traded multiple Klutch guys at the deadline. They’re not letting a 40 year old dictate a future he won’t be part of.

I'm leaning conspiracy here. Everyone is acting shocked, even the guy who apparently orchestrated the trade. It doesn't make sense.

I'm giving it a 17.4% possibility that this trade was facilitated without any shady commissioner ratings decisions or moving the Mavs to Vegas as stated in the previous page.

82.6% chance of shady dealings.

Case in point: Luka asked the Lakers to get a lob threat and they overpay for Mark Williams the next day. The Lakers didn’t make any moves the last couple years for LeBron. It’s Luka’s team now. Klutch doesn’t run that team anymore.

The guy who facilitated the trade isn’t acting shocked. Paint me the picture of how it went down.

This is an entertaining video. And it makes a lot more sense than Dallas being absolutely retarded and trading away their best player ever because he's ten pounds heavier than they want. The video also shows the press conference with Jason Kidd and Nico Harrison sitting next to each other as if they were talking about 9/11.

I saw the video. Harrison is clearly uncomfortable with the backlash and public perception. He’s an idiot. There’s no conspiracy.

"We were afraid he wouldn't sign a super max contract"

"Was there any indication he wouldn't"

"No"

Lol. It's fishy as hell. I know you believe wholeheartedly that it was just a dumb NBA trade but you can't deny the other possibilities have a lot of weight.

It doesn't make any sense from any standpoint to trade Luka for anything. Zero sense. I can't find any reason to believe it was just a dumb trade that happened to involve the most marketable franchise banking off of it.

For about two days I thought it was probably stupidity. Much of the sports world is talking about how convenient this is for ratings, especially given that the biggest and stupidest trade the sports world may have ever seen involves the most marketable franchise in the entire NBA. You can call it tinfoil hat stuff, but it's too massive of a coincidence for me to ignore the shenanigans.

What is the coincidence? Is there some other meaning to that word?

Why did the NBA veto the Chris Paul trade to the Lakers? Were they just covering their tracks so they could make this trade 13 years later?

Why don't you get in a time machine and ask David Stern? We have a brand new commissioner now.

Ah so the NBA deep state only started when Adam Silver came in. Gotcha.

Maybe it was also Adam Silver who forced the Pau Gasol trade through under the nose of the righteous Commissioner Stern.

Or perhaps when the NBA ratings tanked.

Luka isn’t anywhere near the draw LeBron is.

LeBron is 40 and out the door very soon. All of a sudden the Lakers have their franchise guy for the next 15 years. You don't think ratings are gonna go up after this? You said yourself, the Lakers always get the guy and the guy just miraculously fell right into their lap. You fully attribute it to stupidity without giving it a second thought. Could be stupidity. But I'm banking on a ratings push. Nico Harrison was a deer in the headlights in that press conference and that's not how people behave who supposedly orchestrated the whole thing.

"Nico. How did this happen"?
"Umm.. yeah man, me and Pelinka just had a coffee and I was just like hey... like... would you ever... you know"?

Lmao.
