Yep. Haven't even read the books, but glancing at the Wiki, it doesn't look like it's based on particular books, just taking place in the same town.

I'm checking out a very dubbed movie on Netflix called Hellhole.

Kinda slow, but I'm still engaged. For now.

Maika Monroe might be even hotter here than she was in It Follows.

Though in It Follows she was supposed to be Detroit White Trash lol

Jeez, this Annie character is the fucking worst pos character in quite some time.

I would say Spree is far worse. because at least Dashcam has some okay scenes towards the last act yet Spree is just awful when it comes to entitled assholes and pretty much everything else.

I do think I'm seeing why I'm not connecting with this: I really don't give a shit about the two leads. Mister is a terrible actor, and boring, while the kid is just plain boring. There's no personality, development, nothing to them. There's an interesting vampire apocalyptic world, and these two lackluster protagonists are who we're saddled with.

I think the Danielle Harris love plot really hurts the film, because once she is introduced and becomes the main focus the rest of that film is a tough slog to sit through. Let's put a halt on roaming the land killing vampires and settle down and meander about with a dated love story.

I was actually thinking Harris and Willie are the characters we should be following, but obviously not this middle "let's make a found-family" plot, but they were far better performers than the two leads and easily could've carried the film by themselves.
