The Exorcist is damn good so far. Getting to learn more about these well known characters is wonderful. Even though I know what's going to happen there is still this powerful sense of dread.
Listening to William Peter Blatty read it made it even more special to me. And there is a little extra bit of story in the book that is left out in the movie, so there is still something new here.

Very well written. I already bought the Silence of the Lambs audiobook to do next

I have that book, never did the audiobook for it though. Also own The Exorcist book but can't imagine reading it without William Peter Blatty doing the narration.

Is it a hard read? Its an audiobook but I've heard nothing but praise for the novel
You know the bit in the film where he goes over his morning routine? Yeah, it's that shit repeated endlessly. It gets better, but man, it's a slog. This is one case where I think the film is superior.

Well I gotta knock it off my list. I could still do Silence of the Lambs first but I would rather do that second if Psycho is a slog

Being an audiobook might help. Having to read about grooming habits and fashion for pages about drove me nuts.

The fashion is completely insane but I think its supposed to be. I feel certain that audiobook is the way to go for this.
