Here’s hoping all goes well. Could be true but the phrase “might not make it” definitely tends to set off alarm bells among friends.

Apparently the issue is the clots in my lung. Not sure if new or old ones. I need to be on blood thinners or risk the clot traveling and killing me. But the thinner the blood, the more likely I am to bleed too much internally.

Seb.....our healthcare is a joke. The richest fucking country in the world, and we can't get it right. Obamacare sucked. And then the new one is gonna suck more. People here are scared of the word "socialism". They attach that to healthcare, and even libs here are up in arms. Healthcare is something everyone needs.

I remember in the 90s, even minimum wage factory jobs offered good healthcare options and cheap. When I worked for Merk, I had no out of pocket expenses. Copay for Drs visits was $20. Generic meds were free. Now that same company (Express Scripts now) is $30 for generics (per month) and $50 for brand name. Doctor's visits are $100. And they have to pay $500 before they even get the "discount".

But the corporations gotta make that money! So we can all reap the benefits!showa58taro wrote:The idea that you pay that much seems antithetical to modern society.

You mean like the corporation that employs you? Yes, they have to make money or they cannot pay you.Jmac Attack wrote:But the corporations gotta make that money! So we can all reap the benefits!showa58taro wrote:The idea that you pay that much seems antithetical to modern society.

1. People are overusing the medical industryJmac Attack wrote:I remember in the 90s, even minimum wage factory jobs offered good healthcare options and cheap. 2. Do we want good wages for nurses or not?
3. Too many lawsuits to try to avoid and defend. Charge for a bunch of tests you probably don't need because every asshole will sue if you don't
Re: 06-01-2018
The last caregiver for my aunt caused a house fire in her new home by trying to smoke while on oxygen. 7 people and two kids are now homeless because of her selfishness. Ticks me off, as I had to watch her like a hawk while she was here.
Re: 06-01-2018
She called me asking about a bunch of her stuff she left behind. She left her area a total disaster for me to clean up. I told her it was all disposed of and asked her if there was a gofundme set up for her victims yet.
