being accidentally touched while trying to pull a microphone away from a reporter does not count as having had him put hands on you. it does not count as an attack or any such crap.
going to the home of a public figure to threaten them and attempt to gain entry into their home does not ever count as protest.

Re: Liberals and the Manufactured Divide
Are you going to say Acosta's behavior was accidental? Was he not aware the woman was there? Was he not using his superior man strength to keep her away from the microphone after his turn was finished?zombie wrote:speaking on the divide, because i didn't want make this it's own thread.

I just want to be clear, when my turn at something is finished, in your mind, it is ok for me to use my size and strength advantage to muscle away a woman and keep her from something that I have no right to keep her from. Like, I could put a death grip on a bathroom door she wishes to enter, and that is not a problem because I am not punching her.

Isn't that the aged old joke. Liberals got nothing but time to protest, the rest of us have to work for a living.Tiggnutz wrote:Protest and self promote on your own time.

he accidentally touched when she grabbed for the microphone. that's what happened. don't make it more than it is. that's what you constantly accuse liberals of doing. now you're defending it, because it's from conservative sources.Foo wrote:Are you going to say Acosta's behavior was accidental? Re: Liberals and the Manufactured Divide
truth: Acosta turned what is supposed to be a moment of polite society into a moment of violence against a woman. He basically stiff armed her. He was given the opportunity to ask a question. When his turn was over, he used his body, size, and strength, against the smaller female.
How does that scene look if Brock Lesnar is reaching for the mic? Would he pie face Brock while continuing to rant?

Was he not aware she was retrieving the microphone? Did he not use his size and strength to keep her at bay when she had her hands on it? That is physical violence. A light form of it, but it is not like he did not physically resist giving back property that was not his.zombie wrote:he accidentally touched when she grabbed for the microphone. that's what happened. don't make it more than it is. that's what you constantly accuse liberals of doing. now you're defending it, because it's from conservative sources.Foo wrote:Are you going to say Acosta's behavior was accidental? I was speaking solely on Acosta he got what he deserved. I don't know what to say about the Tucker thing I mean he's an arrogant tool but that shit ain't right his wife having to hide in the pantry.

he did hold tight to the microphone, when he was asked to give it back. that's not a debate. that does not make what happened into assault.Foo wrote:Was he not aware she was retrieving the microphone? He obviously did not want his mic to be touched so he could rant more when the Prez shut him down, not reactionary, but completely accidental, right. being a jerk? if he shoved me or hit me, then it would be assault. if he accidentally touched me while i was trying to open the door, it's not assault. but he's still being a jerk.Foo wrote:What would you call it if a person held onto a bathroom door you had a right to enter and did not allow you to enter?zombie wrote:he did hold tight to the microphone, when he was asked to give it back. that's not a debate. that does not make what happened into assault.Foo wrote:Was he not aware she was retrieving the microphone? you can metaphor and analogy a way into anything. it doesn't mean that it's correct or relevant to the actual thing you're using it toward.

"This is not what happened. You could have banned him simply for refusing to abide by any of the normal rules of the press room. No need to state something happened that didn’t. ..... and oh yeah, the truth does not care about your feelings." - notable conservative figure.
Re: Liberals and the Manufactured Divide
Let's be clear here. What we often call "assault" is the shortened form of "assault and battery". Battery is the physical act of violence. His use of force to retain control of the microphone which he had to right to do, could constitute assault, even if it does not rise to a misdemeanor level.
Imagine you did exactly what he did in your workplace. How would it be viewed if your turn was done and you physically held someone at bay while you continued ranting. They would not charge you with a crime, you would be fired.
