I always liked Tommy wanting to stick up for Carrie when the teacher is mocking her for her praise of his poem. Shows his good character.

This movie is the first instance I can recall hearing "Git Err Done" or however it's spelled. So I know Larry The Cable Guy sure as fuck didn't invent it.
