the burning is something i've cooled off on recently. i'm not sure why. maybe it will reclaim it's former glory over time. i don't know.
I like the movie, but I just don't see it as particularly awesome. I actually prefer The Prowler - no idea if that's a hot take or not, and I'm too lazy to compared ratings on IMDb or Letterboxd.

No idea, but I think we can all probably agree that 1981 was the best year for slashers

also, the blob and cat people are loved, and the remakes are better in both cases. i'd add the fly to that too, but i don't think the original is held highly. anymore at all.

happy birthday to me deserves more love than it seems to get. where is it's remake!?
I'm beginning to think if movies are loved then they probably shouldn't get remade.
i think remakes bring more attention to the earlier film. happy birthday to me needs that.
Someone needs to start a streaming service and just call it "Better Than All the New Bull Shit" and just air classics. Is Phantasm better than all the new bull shit they show today? (yes), then it's definitely streaming on "Better Than All the New Bull Shit"

i don't like the way this conversation is going.... i guess you're really bitter about me pushing for ginger snaps. i get it.
It's actually a frontrunner and will probably pass The Omen (I'm guessing) for the #24 spot, possibly even higher. But I need to rewatch it along with three or more others.

I did mention earlier in the month that When Evil Lurks was possibly the best horror movies of the new millennium. After more thinking, it is probably #2 or #3. Ginger Snaps is definitely #1. When Evil Lurks, American Psycho, 30 Days of Night and Cabin Fever are some other quick favorites from just the 2000s that I can think of.
