Yeah a manager lost his job becuase anything involving race is so toxic its just easier to drop to your knees and beg for forgiveness than try and defend your employee.

did the guy get fired? that's shitty, and just overboard. at the most, just apologize to the guys and change the policy, if you felt like it was out of line.

They say the manager doesn't work there anymore I'll take that as he was forced out. Apologize for what doing his job what would he need to apologize for. The two guys should of apologized to him for mistaking a place of business for a park bench or a friends living room.

again if that's the policy, it better be consistently the policy. that's all i'm gonna say on this. cause everyone is starting to throw a fit, if you even have a little bit of variance in your opinion. it's kind of weird, especially for something that should be a complete nothing story, as it is now.

also, made a change, reportedly, because of the police officer refusal. but that doesn't serve your bias.
Consider who Starbucks calls when they have a problem customer. Then think about why it looks shitty as hell to deny a certain profession the use of your bathroom because they didn't buy something.
Not really the same as some dudes hanging out in your restaurant as non-customers like they own the place, is it?

no, it's not the same. but you're the one that linked that article to draw some kind of connection. let's continue to make it a big deal.

The story had the exact effect it was written for to piss off people on both sides. Shameful I took the bait apologies homeys.

What is the change? Treat blacks different because they will get offended and yell the loudest?
No. I think the manager got sacked (reprimanded?) and a policy was amended to clarify expected behavior.

Step 1: Identify the people loitering in the store
Step 2: Sheepishly walk over to them and ask if you can help them, never looking them in the eye
Step 3: If they say they are not buying anything, thank them and offer a pillow. If it is time to close the store, just leave the door unlocked and tell them you will drive by periodically to lock it up when they are done.

Maybe. Either way it led to an organizational change being implemented. Justice fine.
