No. Vance had been Elway's guy since 2014.
Doesn't mean that is still not part of the equation.
Also, just reading articles and such, I don't see many emerging draft picks on that team from before when I stopped watching the game three years ago. Plus, missing on a top QB pick.
Aging stars, no emerging stars, plus no QB is gonna sink anyone. Hard to lay the blame for much of that on the coach. He inherited a team in steep decline.

Yes, Elway and his horrible drafting is the bigger problem. Elway's drafted one good offensive player since 2012, and he now has bum hips. But the Broncos have been the least competitive team in the league all year, have played with very little energy and players haven't been held accountable for mistakes. This team battled every week with Kubiak even with no QB, now they lay down by the second quarter. Honestly, there is more talent on this team than last year's 9-7 team. Loser coach.

On the flip side, the 49ers started 0-9 but were in almost evety game and I thought Shanny was doing a great job. It's not just the losses, it's how they come. Statistically, one possession games are coin flips in a large sample size. Look for the 49ers to have a much better close game record next year.
The Broncos have lost eight games by multiple scores this year. It's a joke.

Not doubting he is a loser coach, but not having a QB for extended stretches demoralizes any team. And yeah, the number of blowouts is troubling.

The Broncos will never admit this, but they spent the offseason building an offense for Paxton Lynch and he still couldn't beat out Siemian.
Btw this is another troubling aspect of Elway's seemingly unlimited power. It is known that he has total control over the roster, including who will be active on game day. The GM should really be assembling the ingredients for the coaches to cook with but Elway is making coaching-level decisions to justify his investments. That's not good.

Well, I think you are still keeping that siggy for a few years. This year was so bad they will at minimum look better next year, they will catch easier schedules, while there is constant optimism about the next new QB. They will float around being a playoff contender, if for no other reason than they have an amazing home field advantage.

The home advantage is really in September. And nobody is really in a position to fire Elway. The COO Joe Ellis is a parasite holding onto Bowlen trust shares for dear life. He knows if there's a sale he will be squeezed out. I wish the league would force a sale.
The truth is the Broncos organization needs to be humiliated to the extreme. Elway and his group of thugs need the world's biggest slice of humble pie. I hope the press absolutely buries them. Furthermore, I hope any alleged legal shenanigans are investigated by the Colorado attorney general. Bring me their heads. Those motherfuckers have been asking for it. It's coming.

Would not surprise me if they brought him back. Ugh. We have a couple of coaches that have been with the team since the 90s. I would love to completely clean house.

Yeah, theirs is not a situation where you want to hire within. New coach, new philosophy, let them take a look at Andy Dalton and then make a quick decision to keep him or move on.

Mike Brown is cheap as fuck and Lewis acts as de-facto GM so Brown doesn't have to do anything. They're a small town team that doesn't care about winning. Why would he ever fire Marvin Lewis?

Not many coaches have hired better staffs than Lewis too. How many current NFL head coaches worked for Lewis in Cincy?

One would think you own an NFL franchise for either the prestige of winning or the money. Shifting the head coach every now and then at least gives the fan base something to be hopeful for. I am against firing the head coach in probably 80% of the situations that involve the head coach being fired, but this situation has been going nowhere for an eternity. If you are in your 20's, you probably think this is some Al Davis or Jerry Jones situation where a guy stays in charge because he owns it or something.

I just looked up his coaching tree. The won-loss record is not exactly impressive among them, and their coordinator pasts aren't exactly the stuff of legends. They must interview well.

Mike Zimmer and Jay Gruden have gotten the most out of their teams.

Not sure he'll ever be the same. Unfortunate.
Time to draft a QB. #5 pick puts us in range. Hopefully Elway is over his tall retard QB fetish.
