BOC is very reliable to me. Even their newer stuff kicks ass, even if it's not iconic.
I sampled a couple songs from their 90s album which wasn't bad. And their newest album too. It's a lot weaker than their peak era in the 70s and early 80s, but certainly listenable. The first 3 albums are fantastic. Agents Of Fortune is pretty solid, still need to do a deeper dive into Spectres. Mirrors is great and Cultosaurus Erectus is great.

Forgot about this comment. I did a deeper dive into their catalog and Spectres is probably my favorite album. The Vigil remains my favorite song, most likely. That one is from the Mirrors album.

Probably one of my favorite Red Sovine songs. Damn shame that it's rarely mentioned, even among his fan-base.
Last verse hits me every time brahs.

Them good ol country songs tell the most unique stories. Marty Robbins is the best storyteller of them all, in my opinion.

Both "Big Iron" and naturally "El Paso" are quality songs, no doubt.

Try out They're Hanging Me Tonight and The Master's Call for some good quality regret-filled lyricism.

I might be the only one who likes this type of thing, but I've always loved the vibes of this song. Deadsy was fucking beast brahs
singer is the offspring of cher and an allman brother. make jason listen!
I know maybe three Cher songs, and I'm not entirely sure I've heard an Allman Brothers song in my life, but I'll have to take your word for it.

it would be a weird thing to make up, but you don't have to believe me if you'd rather not.

You have almost certainly heard Ramblin' Man and Midnight Rider. If you want a lesser known one, check out It's Not My Cross to Bear.

This is a fucking song. Not sure if it makes my Top 5 Chicago songs, but it has to be close.
