NFL 2017 season

All sports. We don't even mind if its women's Curling or junior badminton. Although we won't have strong opinions on the latter.

John Elway is the worst.
Does Denver have that kind of scratch to sign him?
They do but not without creating new roster holes. The thought is that Talib, Sanders and CJ will all be cap casualties at which point they will have room for Kirk.

If I were Kirk, I would be more interested in Minnesota or Jacksonville. Not sure of their level of interest, I just know Elway is begging Cousins to come take his money.
Minnesota thats interesting. I was thinking Denver or Arizona maybe the Jets.

I work with dozens of hardcore Redskins fans and none were happy about this trade.

Love the Vikings fit. The problem is they will have to pay a lot of their young defensive players + Stefon Diggs in the next couple years. Might not have room to take on a monster contract like that. Jacksonville in a similar predicament.

I have been a Kirk skeptic but he is a good quarterback. Offensive line full of roster bubble guys + almost no weapons and was still very productive.

But even if you're resigned to losing Kirk, you go all in for Alex Smith? My god.

That contract just makes no sense to me I don't see why they had to go that high especially in guaranteed money.

I'm an Alex Smith fan but I don't see the same production in DC.

Coming from an Andy Reid coaching staff, good offensive line, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Kareem Hunt. That's a dream situation for any QB.

The Chiefs are scary. Mahomes has the skill set to get more out of their best playmakers, they add another corner and they always seem to draft well. They will be good for a while.

There aren't five people who care about that name. Phony outrage.

Kirk and Splooge are similar QBs. Only difference is Splooge is getting paid 600,000 a year. Both are definitely solid. If Kirk is the new guy, he better prepare for Sack City if Denver doesn't totally reboot the line.

Talib and Thomas are gone.

They polled a shit load of Native Americans and nearly all of them said they don't give a shit.

Congrats on cucking up this thread. You are more offended about a native American nickname than the entire population of native Americans.

BTW, Drew Brees wants to stay in New Orleans, but if he slips away Denver would likely be the front runner.

Brees is the only free agent QB I'd take over Siemian. The issue is 100% the offensive line, not the QB.

0% chance he ever leaves New Orleans.

There are like 10 QBs about to hit free agency who are clearly better than Siemian and probably 10 more journeyman backup types you could make a case for. Denver will take a 7th round pick for him, if not he'll be cut. Just a really bad player.

Cousins is in the top 12-15 QB range. Siemian is an average backup at best, somewhere in the 40s-low 50s. Cousins played behind a worse offensive line this year and still had a solid season. Siemian would suck behind every offensive line in the NFL because he's a bad quarterback. Watch how much better the OL looks when they don't have that bum constantly drifting back into edge rushers' arcs instead of stepping up.

Talib, Sanders and CJ. Thomas will be back on a restructured contract.

I stopped trusting NFL contracts long ago.

Guaranteed used to mean a players was virtually uncuttable. Now you have to read the fine print and it is more about inflating egos and agents trying to attract attention to themselves than reality.

Impossible to judge a man's skill set when the meat and potatoes catastrophically underperforms. Behind an all-time terrible line and still plays fairly well. Says a lot about the guy. He deserves a fair shot.

Apparently I'm the only person in these forums that either A) watches football. Or B) has the capability of evaluating talent. Review game tape of any one of Siemian's starts. An alarming number of drop backs result in a sack before he even finishes the basic five step drop. I don't care what phony numbers the stat sheet comes up with, no team in the entire NFL had an offensive line issue like that besides Denver. And yet, we blame the quarterback. Really bizarre trend. Sports media warps the perception.

And I bet Brees throws for over 4500 yards with the Broncos. Shitty line or not. Siemian has some qualities I like, but come on man......I'd take Andy Dalton all goddamn day over him. Yes, your line is shitty. That does factor in. But that doesn't mean that Semen is your answer.

And unlike some of you fellers, I think Brees is a top 5 of all time.
