Needs to be closer to 8, 7.6.
That'd make it a weak 4/5 stars. It's getting a 3.5/5 which means it'd have to fall between a 6.5/10 and a 7.4/10 and it's on the stronger end of a 3.5/5 so it'd have to be between a 7.0 and a 7.4 so I'm going 7.2.
Letter grading and non-decimal grading is for rookies! We're professionals here.
We are initiated. 7.4, you swine!

For some reason I consider Dolls, Dolly Dearest and Demonic Toys all the same movie
if so, dolls is the best version of that movie.
Though I've never seen Demonic Toys, I wanted to second this.

Bought the Criterion Collection bluray version of The Brood (1979). Scheduled to arrive Wednesday. How good is it?

Some really memorable scenes but a little slow for me

I'll stick with a first viewing of Project: Metalbeast (1995) instead.

Out of the Cronenberg work I've seen (Shivers, Videodrome, The Fly, Rabid, Scanners, and The Brood), I think the Brood would have to be my least-favorie, actually. Not that it's not memorable at times.

Damn. I didn't love Shivers. If it's worse than Shivers than I have low expectations

i think the brood is better than shivers. but not much more than that. still, it's cronenberg so it's going to be worth watching at least once.
