Ice Ice Baby

The most satisfying video. We even get the pleasure of watching it through the video by one of the protesters.
I am celebrating the smackdown on OccupyICE. Although, ICE taking down criminal illegal immigrants is certainly worth celebrating.Headhunter wrote:Also, what kind of person actively takes joy in what ICE does? You can think it's morally right and be fine with it, but you have to be a pretty sick and miserable individual to celebrate it and get excited about it. You Trump supporters are so weird. Most of you only seem happy if other people are as miserable with life as you. I don't get it.
You've become such a spiteful and bitter person. You couldn't even let us have a soccer thread without jumping in repeatedly to bash politicians you hate. You can't even enjoy movies anymore. Your toxic politics have taken over your life. Celebrating others' misery does not have the effect of making you happier, it actually makes you more miserable. Hate really is baggage. This is just sad to see.Jason wrote:I am celebrating the smackdown on OccupyICE. You're missing the point. You're so invested in the political foxhole you've dug yourself into that you can't help yourself, everything is an opportunity to plant your flag and spread messages of negativity. This is not a healthy way to approach life. I'm definitely not misreading, you've become extremely bitter and instead of looking for positive outlets, you just become more and more radicalized. Obviously the health stuff fucking sucks and I don't mean to belittle that in any way, but I feel I've known you long enough to speak frankly about this. You should take a break and go do fun shit. Politicizing everything and being this invested in Trump and geopolitics has not been good for your state of mind.Jason wrote:I cracked a joke about Merkel and a joke about Macron. Not my fault you're reading it through the eyes of hate and not a playful off topic ribbing. I don't think you've gotten a good read on me at all over the past few years. But this is the internet, it's easy to interpret things incorrectly.
You're not "in the loop", most people are in the loop and still find ways to enjoy their lives, retain their hobbies. You've built your existence around politics. Now opposing political views piss you off so much that the mere presence of them stops you from living your life.Jason wrote:Politics are nasty and difficult to avoid. But it's good to be in the loop and keep up with current events instead of turning a blind eye to it. I see it all, even when I'm trying not to. There is an alarming amount of politicism in entertainment, TV, movies, sports and now video games that you can't ignore if you tried. You can't search anything on google or youtube without noticing blatant manipulation of algorithms and such. I can shut my brain down and ignore it all if I wanted to, but it's easier to poke fun at it because of how ridiculous it is.
What do I dislike now because of politics?Headhunter wrote:You're not "in the loop", most people are in the loop and still find ways to enjoy their lives, retain their hobbies. And don't reduce it to poking fun. It makes you miserable. I mean, your post here sounds insane. Everything you used to enjoy you no longer do because of your politics. How do you not get the hint by now?

But... how? Lol. I mean, I enjoy football less because the officiating and manipulation of the rule book has gotten way out of hand. I enjoy movies less because 90% of the time it is either garbage/CGI shitfest. That's about all I can think of that I don't enjoy as much as I used to.Headhunter wrote:All forms of entertainment.Jason wrote:What do I dislike now because of politics?Headhunter wrote:You're not "in the loop", most people are in the loop and still find ways to enjoy their lives, retain their hobbies. At some point you need to take ownership of your own state of mind and stop blaming opposing political views for everything. It isn’t them, it’s you.
Why are you pretending that you didn't throw a tantrum and quit watching football because of players protesting police brutality? Or that you haven't gone on several tangents about movies you hated because they didn't align with your right wing beliefs? Who do you think you're fooling? There are like 10 of us who post regularly, your posts about this stuff don't just slip through the cracks. If you're embarrassed about this stuff and don't want to face it, maybe that's a hint that you should stop politicizing every single thing and start liking stuff again.Jason wrote:But... how? Lol. My favorite music album of all time is liberally themed (granted, from the 80s era liberal) from a guy who is widely known to be so far left leaning and it doesn't change the way I feel about the album or any of his music at all.
