Blinded by the Light (2019)
Blinded by the Light (2019)
Finally got a proper viewing of this trailer. Overall the movie looks just OK. But when he puts on the headphones and hears Springsteen for the first time it gave me fuckin chills. It captured exactly how I feel about his music. It's life changing. I appreciate that the movie was able to capture that.

“Bruce sings about not letting the hardness of the world stop you from letting the best of you slip away.”
God damn...

That doesn't look interesting at all.
Not removing until John Elway is fired.

Looks like it’s better served to British audiences.

But it’s about a British Indian kid growing up in 80s Britain. Feel like most of the jokes will be lost on you.
Re: Blinded by the Light (2019)
Regardless, it's about Bruce Springsteen and he is probably my favorite music artist of all time. Doesn't seem to be a comedy, anyway. There is some weird epidemic of musical "biographies" being made in England, all of sudden. Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman and now Springsteen. Which makes no sense being made in England, as his biggest presence is New Jersey, far and away. I'm not sure Bruce even really cares about the movie, but if he did I know his preference would be a Jersey setting.

I’ll have to watch to pass further judgement.

The trailer captured the essence of what it's like to feel his music in your soul, that's for sure. I'll see anything about Bruce. I just hope they don't politicize the movie up. Which it looks like it might.

It’s about race in the 80s. How can you avoid politics.Jason wrote:The trailer captured the essence of what it's like to feel his music in your soul, that's for sure. I'll see anything about Bruce. I just hope they don't politicize the movie up. Which it looks like it might.

Looking up the plot line it tells me it's about a real life Indian writer's obession with Bruce Springsteen. If they invoke rassism in it, it'll garner an eye roll that would make Linda Blair fuckin proud.

Racism is even in the trailer.Jason wrote:Looking up the plot line it tells me it's about a real life Indian writer's obession with Bruce Springsteen. If they invoke rassism in it, it'll garner an eye roll that would make Linda Blair fuckin proud.
Man, poor Jason can’t get out of his bubble and realize there are issues in this world.
Re: Blinded by the Light (2019)
I know. "You think this white ass dude sings for people like us?!"
"You better start listening to our music before you start forgetting you're not a white ass dude!"
Honestly, though. The racism is so forced. Lol. Maybe white people in England are shit heels or something, but when rassism occurs in this modern era, it's typically the other way around. Particularly in school. Regardless, it's so overblown that all it's used for is propaganda pieces to force division between citizens.
I just want you guys to know, when it comes to true racism some of you guys are totally ignorant to the reality of it.

Went to see it. Definitely going to be a love-hate film for Jason in that he’ll love the use of Bruce and soundtrack and hate the rest.

On a more neutral note for those not offended by how the world is, it’s quite a nice and poignant story about finding ones voice and place in this world. Did enjoy. Not a perfect film but a good one.
Re: Blinded by the Light (2019)
Well, since I have the entire music catalog, I guess no point in seeing the movie. I prefer to get away from politics in movies and not have to worry about phony racism being invoked in everything we watch.showa58taro wrote:Enjoy rolling your eyes broski.Jason wrote:Looking up the plot line it tells me it's about a real life Indian writer's obession with Bruce Springsteen.
