Re: May Movie of the Month Poll
I voted for the 1976 Carrie. I probably won't watch it (though I may - it depends). I personally like the 2002 version more (I haven't seen the 2013 version), but I accept I am in a minority.

Re: May Movie of the Month Poll
I voted for 2003. I havent watched and I like the lead actress. I only got through a half hour of the 2013 one. Seemed to be shot for shot and didn't offer anything. I could be wrong. I've seen the '76 one a million times, including kinda recently.
Re: May Movie of the Month Poll
I voted for 76 because, even though 2002 is better, I just watched it recently.
Re: May Movie of the Month Poll
I haven't seen the original Carrie in probably 10 maybe 15 years maybe longer.

You're not missing much. It's basically a drama with a solid 15-minute finale.Tiggnutz wrote:I haven't seen the original Carrie in probably 10 maybe 15 years maybe longer.

That one's the middle one. There was another theatrical remake in 2013 :pTiggnutz wrote:We can still group watch the new one too I will watch anything with Katherine Isabelle in it.

I didn't mean to imply I thought it wasn't horror. It definitely is. The drama is a lot more prevalent, though, until we get to the finale. At least in my ever-popular view.zombie wrote:it's a horror movie. get over it.Jigsaw wrote:You're not missing much. i mean, there was horror-y stuff before the prom rampage. and after. but that's what everyone remembers. i get it. and there is a lot of character building. the movie is named for the title character, after all.Jigsaw wrote:I didn't mean to imply I thought it wasn't horror. In my (limited) defense, I wasn't a big fan of the novel either (though I did think the narrative structure was very unique). Still, any book (or movie) that portrays the dangers of extremist religious belief is okay with me.

Agreed on both counts. When the fuck did we start having similar views on films?Jigsaw wrote:In my (limited) defense, I wasn't a big fan of the novel either (though I did think the narrative structure was very unique).
