I was hearing his new Masters of the Universe was pretty good, when you realize it's not just He-Man (which apparently a ton of neckbeards are pissed about).

People are pissed because when it leaked that He-man didn't really have anything to do with the show and it was all Teela Kevin Smith called that lies and said it was all about He-man. Kevin Smith lied. But more importantly it just flat out sucks.

The animation is fucking spectacular, but I was not jiving with Prince Adam's voice.

I wasn't sure about Hamil as Skeletor, but I'm good with it. He's kinda like an in-between of OG Skeletor's high voice, and Langella's movie voice.

Okay...Teela's tantrum at the end of the first episode seemed out of no where and abrupt.

I'm still into the overall plot, I'm just cringing at the handling of Teela.

If this was a new character, I wouldn't think anything of it. But it's Teela...feels so off

Netflix reboot (as in continuation) of the old show show-run by Kevin Smith. Had an amazing and misleading trailer, but this show was titled Masters of the Universe, not He-man And The Masters of the Universe, so it shouldn't be that big of a surprise it focuses on other characters in the world.

I'm thinking the trailer was really a trailer for part 2 (because of course Netflix only uploaded a chunk of episodes, rather than the full batch), because they kill off He-man in the opening episode, and the rest have been years later with a quest to resurrect him because the source of magic in Eternia is dwindling (I think). I fully expect He-man to come back in the second half of episodes to do what he does best.

I'm into the plot...but they put Teela at the center...and she isn't acting like Teela at all, it's like she's a completely new character made to overcompensate her being a woman and uber-butching her. Even her "partner" is a far more relatable strong female character--Teela is like a caricature.

This show isn't man-hating like the neckbeards of the internet are complaining, shit Beastman and Man-At-Arms are both protagonists (and Beastman is voiced by 95 Mortal Kombat's Goro!) joining the quest. Frigg'n Beastman.

The animation is phenomenal.

Tony Todd voices Scare Glow, and it's pretty awesome. Shame he's only in one episode.
