If one or two streaming services deviate from the path and push back, they won't get any more favorable treatment. They're all controlled.

This would be like in the 80s and 90s if Hollywood Video and Blockbuster got together and set out to stop movies from being distributed on TV, rented anywhere else, or purchased to own for yourself. That wasn't the case, but this is the case for streaming. Once physical media is eliminated completely, the prices for streaming will skyrocket and they will skyrocket in unison (Netflix, Hulu, etc...) because of the oligopoly. They're all in bed together. They swap the rights to movies and shows all the time to keep the rotation at a balance.

I would be more upset if we lived in an era where films were generally good, but they mostly suck so I'm pretty much fine with not being able to buy newer movies. The only one I miss right now that I can't own is The Barbarian. Eat wieners, Disney. Guess I'll buy a bootleg. You can't really cancel those. :p

great movies still come out. but fair enough. the home video has only been a thing for about fifty years or so. so it's more like return to tradition, i guess. content you had no control over. that you either watched on tv or at a big movie house. at "their" discretion and selection. laserdisc, vhs, and dvd was just a short lived anomaly. now things are going back to the way they were meant to be.

I'd love to believe I'm just blackpilled. Hopefully that's the case, but things technically seemed to change for the worse in certain areas. I'm not a fan of streaming in general. Even if it is the case that they're simply competing in the market against each other and there isn't some agenda behind the scenes, going out to the theater or the rental stores to see movies is becoming a thing of the past as society becomes more reclusive and engulfed in social media. Tik tok is killing everyone's attention span. Forget about being able to sit through a movie anymore without pulling out phones.
