JFK Assassination Discussion

Post by Jason »

Head, where you at?! :P

Figured I'd make this since the last JFK threads I made were on the old boards. Couple that with the fact that Trump was elected and promised to release the whole she-bang. So hopefully this thread will get a warranted bump in the coming months, but it remains to be seen until Trump clicks the ol' File > Open. Hopefully he isn't killed or mysteriously dies in office before he takes their key to the JFK file cabinet. I've dreamed of this day for about 21 years. Don't let me down, you beautiful orange fuck. Not that my expectations of full disclosure are even high at all. I'm sure the juiciest of the juices have been expunged from any records, if they'd even ever been documented at all.

Currently made an offer on ebay for a hardcover copy of one of the more (fairly) recent works on the JFK assassination, JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why it Matters. I'm a little hesitant to hone in too deeply on some newer books, mainly only because the distance between the event itself and present time can easily dilute the accuracy of events. Basically, the newer a book is, the more cautious I am in fully embracing it to be the truth. But this is definitely the most popular of the newer JFK books that I myself have yet to read, and I've been pretty well aware of its subject matter so I'm pretty sure this is gonna be amongst my favorites. We shall see. The offer was accepted so hopefully I'll bring myself to get started on it when it arrives.

As someone from Dallas I will never understand why people won’t let this go. The JFK assassination hurt our city for decades. And a lot of us get annoyed with the consistent conspiracies. If it was an inside job they will never tell the public, at least not until after that entire generation is gone. I hate that it happened in my hometown but it was before my time and I don’t care what the reason was.

I'll let him answer, but it happened before he was ever born so at least he always knew Dallas as the stain and not what it was before. :P

The POTUS was killed there. Simple as that, and as Jason pointed out it put a stain on the city’s reputation that has lasted for decades. Dallas finally emerged from that around the late 90s and has been growing rapidly ever since. The JFK assassination has no short list of conspiracies so that too contributes to that stain.

My point was that as someone who grew up there it’s a constant topic at family gatherings, among neighbors, etc. After awhile one grows tired of hearing about it. We’re the city that killed JFK. That’s not something we want to be known for but sadly we won’t ever escape it.

"Stain" isn't my word. That word has been used to describe the impact on the city of Dallas for decades. The only stain in Dallas right now are the Cowboys. :P

Been to Texas twice. Once just passing through on the way home on a road trip, the next was a few months ago on a road trip. Very nice state. People feel like people and not robotic drones. Just those little interactions that make you feel like you're not the only human walking around. lol. California has that affect. Especially the major cities. Amarillo was great, Lubbock was pretty cool. I don't love crowded big cities so staying in downtown Dallas was kind of a pain other than seeing Dealey Plaza.
