Also, the Food of the Gods films are great.
WW came out in a moment in time where if a woman took a shit, we are all supposed to gather around it in awe, praising the color and aroma. If she had a muffin top belly, a butch haircut, and hairy armpits, it would be the new Shawshank Redemtion.
because you don't like it, or don't see the appeal to even watch it, don't pretend that it's not valid if other people do like it.

I just accidentally whacked it on the sink faucet and lost my breath for a few seconds. Can safely say that I think this hurts almost as bad as falling on a broken wine glass stem but is a significantly less involved injury. It's weird, it doesn't look like it should hurt that bad.
ouch. finger and hand injuries are the worst.

If have not seen the movie, but I like Wonder Woman as a character. I also thought she was awesome in BvS. Before the movie was even released it was positioned wisely as a girl power anthem and no major media outlet was going to be honest. If it was good, it was going to be great.

I don't think it's worthy of the Best Picture talk that keeps getting brought up, just because it's the first good and successful woman-lead comic book movie. It is getting that kind of talk.

I also sorta agree with Foo. There was no way critics were going to trash the movie in this political climate right now.

i took it as relating to how we were ranking the movie, yesterday. but if it's solely about rritics.. then fair enough.

the oscars are very often about things that go beyond the actual quality of the movie they are nominating. but i don't think they were just giving it a pass because of a female lead superhero. that did play a part in how the critics looked at it, i'm sure.

Yeah, I'm talking about the media/critics, not our legitimate opinions from yesterday :P

This. And I haven't seen it either, just kept it lingering in the middle of my netflix queue mainly for the decent/good vs great bullshit, and now that the feminazis are bitching about the Amazonian warrior chicks being more scantily clad in JL vs WW, "only a female director can direct female women" non-sense.

And yet they had more clothes on than Snyder's Spartans :P

Snyder produced WW, so it was still his production team. It's not like it's any different.
