because you don't like it, or don't see the appeal to even watch it, don't pretend that it's not valid if other people do like it.

I don't think it's worthy of the Best Picture talk that keeps getting brought up, just because it's the first good and successful woman-lead comic book movie. It is getting that kind of talk.

I also sorta agree with Foo. There was no way critics were going to trash the movie in this political climate right now.

i took it as relating to how we were ranking the movie, yesterday. but if it's solely about rritics.. then fair enough.

the oscars are very often about things that go beyond the actual quality of the movie they are nominating. but i don't think they were just giving it a pass because of a female lead superhero. that did play a part in how the critics looked at it, i'm sure.
