See, this surprises me because I did not see you as being a neocon style interventionist pushing regime changes in other countries.

Personally, I think we have enough of our own issues we need to address before either becoming the shelter to the world or fighting other governments we do not like. And that comes from someone with extended family living in a shithole country who need help. I help them in ways that I can, but I do not expect you to pay for my choices.

The idea is to present the reality and restrict their access. I would say the president declaring he wants fewer people from those countries is very proactive.
