Favorite Artist by Decade?

Post by Jason »

This is tough to do, because I'm leaving so many out. I'll throw in an honorable mention or two.

1930's: Robert Johnson

1940's: Hank Williams

1950's: Johnny Horton/The Everly Brothers/Buddy Holly/Marty Robbins

1960's: The Doors
Honorable Mentions: Marty Robbins, Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Rolling Stones, Jim Croce, Styx

1970's: The Doors/Led Zeppelin/Bob Seger
Honorable Mentions: Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Rolling Stones, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bruce Springsteen

1980's: Bruce Springsteen
Honorable Mentions: Bob Seger, Van Halen, Scorpions

Starts getting weird now. :p

1990's: Jewel

2000's: Eminem

2010's: Taylor Swift

1960s - The Doors, Rolling Stones
1970s - Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin
1980s - Metallica, Iron Maiden
1990s - 2Pac/Biggie, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam
2000s - Kanye West
2010s - Kendrick Lamar

I like plenty of rock artists from the 2000s-today but not well enough to feel any were worthy of putting on any "favorites" list. A lot of "pretty good", nothing amazing.

Was going to put Eminem for the 2000s but remembered Slim Shady LP was '99. Two great albums not enough to get that spot.

Alaskans hate Jewel, btw. Mainly because she was from there, and then she acted like she wasn't, so they felt burned.

Are you sure those are you favorite Biggie ones? :P

I was making a joke because those being the only two he made. Googled it to make sure and SHIT! There was a bunch of crap after he died. Morbidly hilarious.
