Yes optics are a concern, because we should NOT have to deploy national guard or military on our own fucking people you fucking daffodils, on our own fucking capitol. Also, there had been months of civil unrest because Trump had a massive lead on election night, the entire election froze in the middle of the night for the first time in history and it suddenly took months to count all the ballots behind closed doors and suddenly Biden made a bigger comeback than the Buffalo Bills when they were down 35-3 against the Oilers. Pennsylvania had 80,000 more votes than registered voters and legislators ignored it. It was a blatant steal of the election. This was the only election in American history (so far) where the results were not counted in hours, but months. And miraculously the guy that was way behind "won" by the smallest fractions which all happened to be crucial swing states.

Also, the request was not to "deploy the national guard on our citizens". It was to bring in extra security to keep Washington safe. And it was blatantly ignored because they wanted civil unrest. The uniparty clearly rigging an election is where the anger should be placed here.

I agree with you. And the problem has only gotten worse over time unfortunately. In my opinion a lot of people have forgotten that it is ok to disagree with someone on politics and/or religion but still be friends and focus on the things you have in common with that person.

That being said, I understand that I can (and do) come across has having a harsh opinion of Trump & MAGA. I admit that the subject is a difficult one for me because of the falling out with my cousin and a close friend. But I have to constantly remind myself that it was their choices to end those relationships. Not mine. But it is difficult sometimes not to blame MAGA.
