I thought Lights Out was decent, but The Babadook can like my crack.

Repo is just as much as a horror flick as Hard Candy and Aliens is, IMHO

The Babadook is perhaps easily one of the finest horror flicks in recent memory. People just dislike it because it's too deep for them.

:p

I fail to see how a musical could ever qualify as a horror film. Horror themes(gore/violence)? Sure. But if people are singing fucking dialogue, any semblance of horror has gone out the window.

Nah. It's less horror than that.

Indeed. I liked The Babadook, one of the few here who did, but even I can name plenty of post-2010 horror flicks that I find better.

Funny.

Repo has been counted more than once as horror for the October Challenge, and I believe that no one has attempted to count either Hard Candy or Aliens.

I only vaguely remember Hard Candy, so I can't comment there, but Aliens is an sci-fi/action film.

i would ask how you define horror, but that probably won't help my case of being an actual fan. :P

Oh I know. I've ranted in retaliation at one Halloween party because I said I didn't like it, and they started in with a "you just didn't get--" I cut them off, ranted exactly what the theme was, told them how cheap it was, how everything meant nothing, there was no danger, and all we got were two annoying as fuck characters I'll never forget...in the worst way possible :P

This is precisely why we need to drastically expand the horror section.

We're posting all this shit in IT's Upcoming Movie thread.

Fuck if I know how to define it, words have never been my strong suit. It's just fucking horror.
