Watched Serial Mom for the first time last night. Cool seeing locations I recognized but probably wouldn't watch again

Borderlands. Never played the games, so can't comment on how good of an adaptation it is, but as a film, it's mediocre. I honestly feel like this was made for children instead of fans of the games(who are probably mostly adults, considering how old the franchise is). There are worse ways to kill time, but that's about the only good thing I can say about it.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - too many subplots but still enjoyable. Wasn't expecting it to be as good as the first and it wasn't but the original is iconic in my opinion. Overall it's good fun and I look forward to seeing it again

Muriel's Wedding. The first time Toni Collette was Oscar snubbed but not the last.

Friday the 13th parts 1-8

Been a while since I put all them on in a row, with some breaks. This was the first time I noticed on the bitch'n Scream Factory box set that parts 4-6 have a mockumentary broken up in 3 parts "revisiting the Crystal Lake Massacre" following Tommy's journey. That was fun, but the biggest laugh was the conspiracy theorists talking about how Tommy disappeared for a while after Pinehurst and when he came back no one recognized him, leading them to believe he had plastic surgery :P

The Substance

Can’t recommend seeing this enough. Great body horror and the last 45 minutes or so are just hilariously bonkers. Rare that I say this but wish I saw it in a packed theater.
Not removing until John Elway is fired.

Cuckoo. Wasn't what I was expecting, but it was decent enough. Not sure how I feel about the ending, though.

Just watched Inseminoid (1981).

It was something, I guess. Not an exceptionally poor movie, but nowhere close to remarkable in any way. Didn't really have much of a personality to it, to be honest.

Megalopolis

A baffling movie with a lot of cool / weird stuff, very little coherence and Star Wars prequel caliber dialogue.

Yeah that’s probably the closest Coppola comp. Shit was beyond unhinged and I’m sure some of it is supposed to feel like satire but I laughed like 100 times

Basically. She didn't eat all of the guy (not from my already-fading recollection) but sounds like the same idea.

Blink Twice. I wasn't sure what this was about other than people go to an island and bad shit happens, so I was just expecting some slasher-type stuff. That is not what I got. Instead, I got some serious fucked up rape revenge stuff that just made my day shitty. If that's what you're in the mood for, that's one thing, but going in expecting some light-hearted film where everyone dies just to have this thrown at you is a real kick in the balls. Also, the ending is dumb.

Watched a 2021 drama called Moth on Amazon Prime.

Labeled horror (along with action and drama), so I was like "what the fuck?"

There's no horror here - it's a low-budget drama that means well, I'm sure, but not remotely my type of thing. Would not recommend fam.

I'm an odd duck, so no, not kidding. I started it once back in college, but I think I only got 15 minutes or so in (nothing to do with the movie - just that I got distracted by other things).

I'm sure I'll watch it some day, though. :P
