Re: November 2, 2024
if you haven't seen the flick at least half a dozen times and committed much of it to memory, can it really be considered for your top 25?

You have seen The Thing once and I Saw the TV Glow twice...Jigsaw wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:49 pmThis is exactly why I have issues trying to make ranked lists like that. Like, I haven't seen Re-Animator in over ten years. Is it worthy to be in my top 50? I've seen it once, and that was so long ago I remember only a single scene. Hell, I've only seen The Thing (1982) once, and given that was so long ago, it wouldn't even make my top 100 80's horror movies.Jason wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:24 pmI should probably watch/rewatch like 8 movies that could be in contention
It's just all so subjective and hard for me to visualize.

Re: November 2, 2024
65% of horror movies I've seen, I've probably only seen once. It's nothing against The Thing. I remember finding it around average, but like I said, I've not seen it in 10+ years, so I'd imagine that would change when I happen to revisit it.zombie wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:13 pmso you've seen food of the gods only once cause it was boring. why have you only seen the thing once?Jigsaw wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:11 pmFood of the Gods was boring af tho. Re: November 2, 2024
Well, I wrote a review for it this lasting viewing, and I gave it a 3.5/10.
That might give you an idea.

Re: November 2, 2024
This is important to note.
Back in 2016, I decided to rewatch every single horror movie I'd seen up to that point, and write a quick review on them (which eventually morphed into my review blog-thingy). So The Thing is one of those movies I saw prior to 2016 that I just haven't rewatched yet. I have a list of those movies, which contains 1,052 titles (and I have that list in front of me, so it's an exact number).
That list started at something like 1,625 movies or so, so I've revisited and reviewed at least six hundred from that list, but this was always going to be a long-time goal.

Re: November 2, 2024
This is exceptionally hard for me to answer.
I couldn't tell you how many times I've seen ANOES or Halloween, or Halloween 4 or Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. Some of these movies I saw as a kid growing up, and unlike today, I didn't keep a detailed listing of each movie I watch (I have such a list for most horror films I've seen since 2016).
Like, for Children of the Corn (1984), I could guess that I've seen it maybe seven times, but there's no real way to know. All I know for sure is I last watched it 10/16/2019
