Re: Top 25 Non-Horror Films
I've said this before, but I am one that tries to differentiate between favorite and best. Road House is one of my all time favorite movies, but I'm not gonna act like it has the best writing, story, dialogue, cinematography, direction etc. to grace the silver screen.Jason wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 8:42 pmHe talks more about Point Break and Road House and those aren't even there?zombie wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 8:23 pmyeah? it brings me physical pain that you didn't include point break, rocky 4, or even a single van damme flick. shut it!Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 8:02 pmPut Platoon above Apocalypse Now or just drop it down. That's a sore spot, Apocalypse is such a drugged out mess sloppy excuse of a film, it brings me physical pain anyone can rank it higher than Platoon in any regard.

Move Apocalypse Now up the list, zombie. Reign’s groveling is unseemly.

I have zero interest in artists who aren’t constantly threatening to commit suicide or spiraling on a messy cocktail of drugs. And nobody else should either.Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 10:05 am Yes, show the world how you support rampant drug abuse and the glorification and profitication of mental illness, zombs. I generally agree, more Johnny Depp is going on the list. But zombs has a moral compass.Headhunter wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 10:09 amI have zero interest in artists who aren’t constantly threatening to commit suicide or spiraling on a messy cocktail of drugs. On that note, Easy Rider is at least an honorable mention for me. Amazing soundtrack, the sickest movie bike ever, fascinating 60s time capsule, cool people doing drugs. Born to be wiiiiiiiild

the more i think about it and look around, the more i realize that i am far better as a horror film fan than i am as a general movie fan.

Re: Top 25 Non-Horror Films
Not a lot of comedies on these lists. Are you guys including the idea of putting comedies or are you reserving it for drama/mob/crime etc...?

Re: Top 25 Non-Horror Films
I don't know what they're doing, but I just listed my non-horror upper stuff.
Re: Top 25 Non-Horror Films
I don't know if I can combine them on mine. How do you compare Bad Santa or Dumb and Dumber to something like Rear Window? lolDancesWithWerewolves wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 11:44 pm I don't know what they're doing, but I just listed my non-horror upper stuff.
Re: Top 25 Non-Horror Films
comedy is tough, especially if you take the approach of best over favorite, like reign said he was going for. but there are still a few throughout.
Re: Top 25 Non-Horror Films
I'm sure Lawrence of Arabia is a better movie than Back to the Future but I get more enjoyment from Back to the Future. Thus one is on my list
