Novemner 7th, 2024
Re: Novemner 7th, 2024
I'll give that a go. Didn't like Fried Barry much but that could be fun
Re: Novemner 7th, 2024
looks like it could be fun or it could be too bogged down in politics. i guess i'll have to wait and maybe see. but it means more attention to the original, and that's never a bad thing.
Re: Novemner 7th, 2024
I'm gonna rewatch The Dollars Trilogy some time soon. Within a week probably.
Re: Novemner 7th, 2024
If I'm feeling saucy I'll probably review all three.

Where they fucked up there was trying to micro-manage and rush them out to compete with Marvel. Every time I think about his Justice League, I think of the scene in Almost Famous where Rolling Stone only has Fugit's notes for his article, complaining about it being a bunch of notes and he has to shout at them that they demand to send what he had, it wasn't finished. Zack wasn't finished and needed more time, but WB was like "nah bro, we're gonna gut and patch it under 2 hours and out in 2017."Lazerus wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 9:56 amThe Snyder DC films were much better than most of the shit Disney has pumped out for Marvel. Justice League failed because Snyder had to leave due to his daughter's tragic suicide. Unfortunately that prick Joss Whedon came in and made "his version" which was terrible. Then of course you had the internet crybabies who couldn't handle Snyder's dark/gritty realism that he brought to the films. Despite those few detractors it all started off good and could have succeeded had the executives as Wander Bros. Discovery managed the franchise better and not been in such a rush to compete with the MCU.zombie wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 9:44 amthe snyderverse was suffering all on it's own. moving away from it was the best decision given the circumstances.Lazerus wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 9:40 amLike abandoning the Snyderverse.DancesWithWerewolves wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 8:37 am But the new head of WB has been making many poor decisions with handling movies lately, so this isn't a surprise.

But we usually do group sesh on Saturdays so we said the 9th for FvJ.
We could do Friday the 13th and NOES fest tomorrow, culminate with FvJ the 9th.

That's how I'm approaching it, just another cool Roman gladiator flick, ignoring any sequel connection because it's bullshit and not needed anyway, but I get it to help sell.Headhunter wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 10:37 pm Have heard there is actually really strong buzz about the sequel.
As far as the need for a sequel goes…I’m not in the business of saying we should have less cool Ancient Rome shit. I wouldn’t care if there is zero connection to the original.
