"go woke go broke" has never meant don't be a bully asshole for your particular set of politics or you'll lose the dinero. but at least your way to use it could be somewhat defensible, if you actually stick to the way you laid it out here.
What does that term mean to you?
i don't like the term, because it's thrown out to just see if the accuser can make it stick in the public consciousness. but often it's thrown at some work of media or public figure that could be seen as socially or culturally subversive to conservative values.
I see it as addressing a double standard.
For example, in the NFL, a player was just fined about 12 grand for being seen on camera on the field after a game wearing a Make America Great Again hat. They do not allow this, but allow Black Lives Matter to be printed on the field and on players' helmets. Even after the BLM founder was caught spending the charity funds that BLM received on herself (new house, etc...).

i like the way you're using it right now, much more than i've heard or read it thrown around so often elsewhere. bullying by way of personal bias is gross.

I can't be made responsible for any derogatory comments or bullying for anyone else just because we share similar political views. A former player for the Patriots named Aaron Hernandez murdered at least one person and likely many more, and that doesn't mean fans of that team should all be seen as thug murderers.
Which is why I don't lump Jiggy in with all the crazy woke leftists.

i feel like this is a veiled accusation? did you take something i said as trying to blame you for the way the term is used elsewhere?

You said you liked the way I used it as opposed to how you've seen it used before. And I just went on a bit of a tangent that had nothing to do with how you viewed what I said but rather with the typical issue in politics where people generally find the worst popular person they can find and air it to the world that this person supports X or Y candidate and that must mean the X or Y candidate is bad.
lol. okay, fair enough. i guess you're just talking guilt by association or sins of the father kind of crap. i don't buy into that. clint eastwood supports trump. i hate trump, but i'll watch play misty for me or in the line of fire all night and day.

Bruce Springsteen oddly enough campaigns against the very fabric of the things he writes about, yet, he is still my all time favorite musician. So there's that.

well, i'll think we're good. so long as night of the living dead or buffy the vampire slayer remains un-woke, we'll be great!

I've seen this used on social media before. It's stupid, The term woke has been taken way out of context.

i think once it was co-opted by the right, it was always meant to apply to anything they didn't like in the moment.

That's because they are afraid of change. That's what this is all about, fear of change. The problem with trying to stop change is that it's going to happen no matter what. So yeah let them have their four years, once Trump is done the MAGA movement will die the slow death it deserves and we can all move on from this bs.

Yes and no, this was a response to the changes that have been happening that was voted in four years ago, not fear of. A lot has changed over the last four years, we have wide open border with people pouring in, soaring costs and rampant crime, as the key issues. So yes, people are trying to stop that glorious change the democrats propagate.

the narrative on crime or the border has nothing to do with "woke", but it is preferable to talk about that as it's something you can actually pin down and look into. but as with all things, politicians and pundits overblow the problem and undermine the solving of it.

Umm, woke started it's apex with the Floyd rioting and looting... Oh wait that wasn't crimes at all, shit.
if you criticize narrative at all, that means you're fucking blind! see what i mean by overblow?

I was speaking about the reds attack on the term "woke" which has nothing to do with with the border or economy. Just look at the efforts in Oklahoma to force bible teachings in public schools. How is that not the religious rights effort to force their beliefs on others by indoctrinating children? How is that not showing fear of change in terms of tolerance towards others who are different? (LGBTQ, People from other religions and cultures) Yes, a lot of this is out of fear.
