i was unaware that there was meant to be more to follow from troy. was it still gonna be with wolfgang petersen?Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 8:00 amSame. I really like Troy so big bummer they never did that. Troy didn't lose that much money, damnit, they could have just tempered the budget.DancesWithWerewolves wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 10:22 pmI'm still bummed we didn't get the Sean Bean one, even though Troy deliberately went a less mythical/fantasy route, but I still wanted it lol. I'll take this though.Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 4:03 pmLooks good, might replace the Armand Assante version. Re: November 14th 2024
I believe that was the plan, it was wait and see how Troy does, then it didn't make enough to appease the suits (it actually made money), which was stupid as if they went the LotR route and shot back to back they could have helped absorb production costs and we'd have two kick ass epics on our hands, because I am genius and they are idiots but now we are left with no Sean Bean as Oedipus! Wait, what? That would be cool too, 3 movies back to back to back!zombie wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 8:07 ami was unaware that there was meant to be more to follow from troy. was it still gonna be with wolfgang petersen?Reign in Blood wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 8:00 amSame. Re: November 14th 2024
I love this piece of trivia about Troy, btw:
"Brad Pitt and Eric Bana did not use stunt doubles for their epic duel. They made a gentlemen's agreement to pay for every accidental hit; $50 for each light blow and $100 for each hard blow. Pitt ended up paying Bana $750, and Bana didn't owe Pitt anything."
Umm, I guess Fight Club is big crock of shit, Pitt don't know how to fight worth a fuck.

Didn't know he was your favorite. You no see Allied and Ad Astra? Haven't seen those either so curious where'd they rank. Killing Them Softly was good by same director as Jesse James which of course was excellent.

Re: November 14th 2024
Haven't seen Begotten (not that I think) so I can't compare, but I definitely don't agree with the "good atmosphere" or tension building. I had to get an idea of the plot from the IMDB synopsis, and it still didn't help lol. I do wish I watched with subtitles though, that way I can get a better idea of what our characters (off-camera kids) were saying through all their whisper-mumbling.Slaughterhouserock wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 2:56 amFor me, it's still Begotten. Skinamarink had good atmosphere, a semblance of a plot, and built tension(without any payoff, but still). Begotten had one interesting scene at the beginning, then nothing. No plot, just pointlessly grainy footage of random shit.DancesWithWerewolves wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 10:44 pm Ooof. I will say I'm glad I watched Skinamarink. Because I have a new crown for Worst Movie I've ever seen.

Was watching a reaction to Dumb & Dumber yesterday and it occurred to me: if Clue is Jason's favorite movie, how come that isn't his favorite comedy?

Ad Astra wasn't bad, it just didn't amount to anything with all it's puffing. Re: November 14th 2024
Technically it is I guess. But if I rank comedies I usually base them solely on how funny they are.DancesWithWerewolves wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 9:27 am Was watching a reaction to Dumb & Dumber yesterday and it occurred to me: if Clue is Jason's favorite movie, how come that isn't his favorite comedy?
